Freeze a banana, then blend it with some plant milk/water to liquify (is that a word?) it out and some whole bean vanilla extract.

ConfusedWife1234 · 21/12/2018 21:55

I think liquify is a word. Sounds like it... but then English is not my native language.

Get full fat milk.

Get proper vanilla ice cream.

Get honey.

Blitz in blender.

scoop pour into receptacle of choice.

Add whipped cream.

Top with chocolate drops and rainbow sprinkles.

Great for your mental health Grin

ConfusedWife1234 · 21/12/2018 22:12

Good point, salmon.... but I am searching for something that is good for both physical and mental health...

Full fat milk and vanilla ice cream great but maybe a bit more healthful.

*HEALTHY

TheSpottedZebra · 21/12/2018 22:15

Thing is - there is no perfect food for good health. An overall balanced diet is what we all need.

The carb police would say bananas, and all sugars are bad.
Other people would say dairy is bad.
Others would say don't liquidise your food as you consume more calories if you do...

ConfusedWife1234 · 21/12/2018 22:17

Yeah, I know that a balanced diet is great. I have a balanced diet.

It is not for me but for somebody who most unfortunately does not have a balanced diet at all.

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 21/12/2018 22:19

Someone with an unbalanced diet won't suddenly be healthy because they start drinking "healthy" shakes. They need to overhaul their diet and lifestyle.

TheSpottedZebra · 21/12/2018 22:19

Well that is unfortunate, but you won't cure them with a milkshake .

If their diet is so bad, surely anything slightly positive will be an improvement.

InspectorIkmen · 21/12/2018 22:20

I whizz up oats that have been soaked in oat milk/almond milk with a banana. No added sugar. It's delicious and an excellent breakfast substitute

TokenGinger · 21/12/2018 22:21

@jomaIone OP has just said English isn't her native language. Care to take a try at writing in her language?

TokenGinger · 21/12/2018 22:22

I make my shakes with:

Vanilla protein powder
1% fat milk
Fat free natural yogurt (1-2 spoons)
Cinnamon
Spoon of peanut butter
1/4 frozen sliced banana

Absolutely gorgeous! And healthy too.

ConfusedWife1234 · 21/12/2018 22:29

AIBU to ask when to use the word healthful and when to use healthy?

OP posts:
dontticklethetoad · 21/12/2018 22:30

I don't think "healthful" is in common use.

GassyAss · 21/12/2018 22:31

1 banana
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
1 table spoon of nut butter
Whizz up in blender with milk

Delicious. Nutritious. Could add berries or cocoa powder if wanted to.

ConfusedWife1234 · 21/12/2018 22:31

Is it not? Now I am cofused because I am sure I heard native speakers using the word healthful.

OP posts:
SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 21/12/2018 22:33

It is a word but it's not commonly used I don't think OP Xmas Smile I use the same sort of recipe as Inspektor.

InspectorIkmen · 21/12/2018 22:34

Healthy/Healthful

I've heard 'healthful' more in America than here but it's not actually wrong.

angelikacpickles · 21/12/2018 22:34

I have only ever seen "healthful" used in the US. It's still "healthy" on this side of the Atlantic.

BlueUggs · 21/12/2018 22:36

Are you confusing "helpful" with "healthful" OP?

WilburforceRaven · 21/12/2018 22:41

1 scoop Spirutein vanilla powder
1 cup of almond milk
1 frozen banana

Eliza9917 · 21/12/2018 22:41

Yabu for using the 'word' healthful.

ConfusedWife1234 · 21/12/2018 23:37

Thanks for explaining the word healthful. I never used almond milk so far and I guess the individual I am asking for never did...but sounds like a great idea. I heard that it tastes a bit sweet and is more nutritious than real milk.
