To think the seasons are shifting...

It’s december and I have flowers growing in my garden. Blue ones. I don’t know what they are called but they don’t come out in winter.

Last year and year before I think it got properly cold March time (although to be fair my memory is abysmal).

So who else thinks the seasons are shifting and getting later or have I lost the plot?

Midwinter. We're half way through it

Isn't winter Dec 21 - March 20?

I have a lilac colour cornflower growing in the front garden. The roses have only just finished.

I've been saying this for years... we used to go back to school in September wearing winter coats now it's probably the best month. My birthday is in October & was always cold as a child now it's so mild.

March "comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb" so it all depends which bit of March you mean!

Yes I totally agree op.. I'm in cental Scotland, i left the house the other morning at 6am and actually felt midly warm. It was really really strange.

Mind you I also had to scrape the car last week so there has been some chilly days, but this winter has been wet and mild mostly, when I always remember them being bitter cold snd crisp.

^ Astronomical winter is. Meteorological winter = 01/12 to 28/02.

I still have roses in bloom in my garden and I’m in Manchester. It’s really bizarre!

I've never heard the seasons with different dates. Interesting.

It's 10.20PM, and 11degrees c here... nearly Christmas and not cold at all. My DH just came in from work, holding his coat because he didn't find it cold enough to have on while walking back from the train station.
