To think that food sold too cheap has no value?

Lidl has the main traditional Christmas veg on sale at 19p per bag. Asda at 20p. I saw folk today putting 4 bags of sprouts and similar of carrots etc into their trollies, not just one, many people
Are they all catering for 20 plus folk? Or are they just buying because it's so cheap and it will all end up in landfill? Surely just buy what you will use and so leave those bargains for those who really need it.

I'm one of those people, today I did my shop as I have a spare fridge and working between now and Christmas, I got 3 bags of sprouts,carrots, parsnips and potatoes also 2 Swedes and 2 bags of onions amongst other bits and bobs. I am cooking for 15 this year and my kids only eat veg. My in-laws and parents also take home stuff and I also make bubble and squeak patties to freeze along with soup for myself. I hate waste and will ensure its all used

I bought 4 bags of carrots from Lidl, I buy 4 bags every week not always Lidl, sometimes Waitrose, we are family of 4, DS alone eats 3 raw carrots a day plus any that I may cook. Was a big saving for me this week!

I put four bags in my trolley today. Not because they were 19p but because I always cook them all and use leftovers in bubble & squeak.
However, food waste is an issue and I don't know why people do not just cook all and freeze leftovers. Nothing like a random dinner from time to time.

Pretty happy with my cheap veg to be fair
Will all get eaten (well, minus whatever the kids leave)
Also happy with all my other bargains

I have no idea how I've spent so much money though

Feel like that might be great for Boxing Day with some leftover sausages and gammon

I bought quite a bit of cheap veg for my freezer. I make a mean parsnip soup!
