Christmas Bonus

i have worked for the company for about 3 years. the management have admitted that my role is the most demanding and busy in the company. every year we get a christmas bonus in cash. this year i went on maternity leave at the end of november. christmas bonuses are given out on the same day as the christmas party which was last week. obviously i wasnt there but i popped into the office earlier this week with the baby and was hoping they would give me my bonus then but they didnt. i’m pretty sure everyone would have got theirs as unless it’s been a bad year they always give some form of bonus and this year has been the best year yet for turnover. i’m just a bit miffed that i’ve worked there the whole year and i am still employed by them yet they didn’t bother giving me a bonus just because i wasn’t there. i was maybe expecting a bit less as i obviously haven’t worked for december but to get nothing i think is a bit off. AIBU?

They are almost certainly in breach of employment law if they don't pay you but they give others a bonus.

That’s not very nice for you. I have been treated terribly by my employer in relation to pyrises even though I have performed really well. It’s absolutely disgraceful! Don’t get me started! Other staff are treated the same as me though but its still very upsetting and I do not feel valued at all. When I found out I was not working quite so hard and took my full break ! 👍

You are only entitled to it - if it’s a contractual benefit.
I’d be annoyed - can you ask your manager?

^ this. Why is it being paid in cash exactly?
