my favourite time of the year as well as the shortest day, daylight starts to extend in the next few days even if it is a minute or so.
abvu - mini pizzas, and buffet food for breakfast, a glass of mead [or 6 later] will attack the treats big time later and my dcs are coming home for the celebrations. i'm as happy as a seagull with a stolen bag of chips ! [ my type 2 gets dealt with tomorrow ] for today we party hard !
have a great one fellow pagans and we are with you in spirit at stone henge for the duration.

I went for a walk (at a local sacred site) and got invited to join some delightful women having a ceremony It was wonderful.

christenity did nick a lot of our stuff but we don't begrudge anyone enjoying themselves as a result of it.

That’s some cognitive dissonance there! Steal several significant festivals for your own [made up to control the masses] cause via torture and murder and we’ll not only peacefully forgive you but welcome you celebrating it!

Whatever happened to peace and good will to all? Or is that only for the thieving Christian bastards?

They didn’t exactly demonstrate peace and goodwill whilst they were stealing the festival by forced conversion, did they?

I have some 51 year old mead which I've never opened, maybe today will be the day? I contemplate doing so each winter solstice.

I’m bringing in the greenery today then tonight the house will be filled with candles. I need to go to the Mead shop as I thought I had a few bottles left over from our handfasting in June but we must’ve accidentally finished the lot off since then lol.

Nice memory from 2014 ...

Happy Yule! I am cleaning house this morning as DS's friends are coming over for a Yule party after school. Fortunately, I am friends with the mum's, so the plans are cocktails, gingerbread trees and a lot of toasts. I may do a quiet drunken ritual tonight and light a candle for the reborn sun tomorrow.

Oh and my money is on the Oak King to win

Happy Yule! I'm quietly pagan as my in laws are very Christian and would be horrified. They arrive this evening for a family Christmas meal tomorrow and Im contemplating doing a special meal like I usually do and lighting lots of candles. Its lots of work though when I have an enormous Christmas meal to make tomorrow. Maybe I will just light the candles and have a glass of mulled something this evening and quietly mark the occasion in a small personal way.

Whatever you do today, have a wonderful time doing it.

I've been waiting for this day more than Christmas. I hate the dark nights

I'll be lighting a candle at dusk and leaving it burning until the sun returns to us in the morning.

You can all have the mead - it'll be a few celebratory G&Ts for me this evening

We lit candles and had mulled wine. Bought some mead (never tried it) but haven't opened it yet.
