To be utterly fed up! Gatwick drones Ruined my trip!!

Posting here for traffic, I need to vent !!!
Was due to meet my family and the s* drones have ruined it!!
I only see them very occasionally as we live very far (long haul).
How on earth they are still at large?

They (dd and partner) are in a hotel tonight..She will speak to rep first thing...

@feckitall the hotel front desk or her airline customer service desk at the airport should be able to help her track down a pharmacy/doctors surgery/similar who can provide what she needs. It’s not as uncommon as you might think.

There’s nothing to say this wouldn’t happen at other airports and government are being too slow to act.

If this is a protest group name they should be named & ripped to shreds. Vent away they have ruined people’s Christmas for what? They’ve tarnished the reputation of Gatwick which a huge employer in my area, just so cruel to everyone affected.

Joking apart, I’d be gutted.
Flew into Newcastle last night , tired and unwell, would have been gutted if I couldn’t get home and was stranded at an airport

Why can't they follow the drone when it goes to replace its batteries?

I'm stranded at an American airport waiting to fly back. Car is at Gatwick so there's talk of dropping us off in Paris or Amsterdam!!!

Same here, our relatives got sent to Heathrow, they were supposed to arrive in Gatwick.

And perhaps the truth is closer to - the only way we could stop a terror attack was to create our own diversion that prevented it from being possible

I'm looking at booking more flights now. Being with family at Christmas is important. I DO not like these drone operators. They made about seven of us cry today. Stinkers.

@Insomnibrat Yes but I just googled it and still should be 5800 take offs and landings between 11:30 and 6. So I'd say they are having issues, must be related to IT issues they were having earlier today?

Update from me..DD got home at 6am today after being flown back to another airport and going by coach to Gatwick to collect their car. She messaged me to say she was ok..
