Avoiding eye contact on the train....

With a guy who used to work for me! I had to let him go for lots of reasons, mostly being very entitled and hugely lazy. Really don't want to chit chat.
He's stood up on the train facing my direction and looking this way. There are lots of seats so it's definitely so I'll notice him. I'm pretending to be very busy on laptop with ear phones in and pretendng I can't see him! He doesn't even live in my direction so no idea why he's on my train. Confused

Carry on ignoring him. If he says anything, pretend you are struggling to place him, or just blank him.

It's not your train, OP! There could be any number of reasons. I wouldn't think he'll be any more glad to see you.

He might just be on your train because he's heading that way rather than more sinister

But wierd he's staring at you in that situation.

Stay close to other people when you get off the train if he hasn't first before you

I only let him go 2 months ago! Wish he'd sit down as I'm on pins waiting for him to speak.

Are there seats available?

Voldesnort · 19/12/2018 19:20

Lots of them! There is no need for him to be standing gaping at me, but he seems hell bent on doing just that. Think he knows I'm avoiding eye contact.

Not sure of the problem,,just say Hi and carry on with your work. He may well have moved on and be happy.

As long as you can feel people around next to you... I might pretend to be asleep I think

No chance then.

Voldesnort · 19/12/2018 19:22

I'm hoping he gets off before me. DH pickiing me up from station luckily. He's weedy so not inintimidating but I don't want to speak to him!

That's such a weird thing to say. Do you literally only ever get on a train to go home? Confused

Equally, plenty of people choose to stand when there are seats available.

He's probably on his way to a Christmas party and just surprised to see a familiar face on the train. Don't feel intimidated. It sounds as if you are scared he's deliberately following you. It's unlikely.
