To ask you all for help deciding wtf to do for DS's birthday party

We always make a bit of a fuss of it because his birthday is 1st Jan. We are treating him that day but I also need to arrange something on the Saturday 5th for 15 of his friends and I'm totally stuck. Everything I can think of is either booked or wouldn't work with bad weather that day. Any amazing ideas? We are in Surrey.

How old is he?

usernamerisnotavailable · 19/12/2018 18:00

Sorry that would help. He'll be 9

Is he into video games? My friend hired a video game bus to come to her house, and just ordered pizza in for them. Kept the house tidy too, as they were on the bus the whole time!

Sexykitten2005 · 19/12/2018 18:13

A games cafe either board games or they have.l retro video games cafe now as well.

MissCalamity · 19/12/2018 18:16

My DS had a party game bus for his 8th birthday, him & his mates had a great time and no tidying up for me after. Although you could possibly struggle with availability with it being less than a month away.

Trampoline park?
Ice skating?

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 19/12/2018 18:18

Pizza Hut does a pizza party, where you make your own and then eat it.

EduCated · 19/12/2018 18:20

Laser tag, bowling, they might be a bit little for ice skating (without lots of adults)

Sugarsnappy · 19/12/2018 18:20

Where abouts in the country are you?

usernamerisnotavailable · 19/12/2018 18:20

Thanks for the suggestions. Have looked into games bus but it's pretty spenny. We did trampoline Park last year and they've just done pizza express make your own pizza party with the school. They are all great ideas though please keep them coming!

Public swim so they can all splash about together then get pizza?

Cinema followed by McD’s. At that age movies for juniors wouldn’t cost a fortune& might be something decent on.

Ice skating- although the prospect of broken bones is terrifying!

TwoBlueFish · 19/12/2018 18:22

Bowling, cinema, karting, laser tag, trampoline park, climbing wall

usernamerisnotavailable · 19/12/2018 18:23

Re ice skating it's not something DS has taken too so I'd be a bit worried about supervision and, as ok said, broken bones!

Bowling
Cinema
Nerf party
Laser tag
Indoor climbing
Indoor ski slope

Bottomplasters · 19/12/2018 18:33

We have done a few things.

Do you have an all star lanes? Really cool bowling, with great music and food.

Escape room and pizza?

Laser quest

Games bus?

Cuddlykitten123 · 19/12/2018 18:39

Our local small theatre does private hire cinema, just bring DVD of you choice which they set up to there projector and you put on food/get pizza delivered.. might be something similar nearby you?

PositiveVibez · 19/12/2018 18:43

If you have a Reel cinema by you, they do a deal for £7 per child for the movie, a drink, a popcorn or hot dog and a milky way.

I am in the NW tho, so may be a bit more expensive down your way.

We went to Frankie and Benny's after where it was £7.49 for a main, dessert, drunk and a squishy

Dd was 10 and there were 9 kids, so it worked out quite cheap compared to the laser tag we did last year.

PositiveVibez · 19/12/2018 18:43

*drink 😂

usernamerisnotavailable · 19/12/2018 20:07
