Leggings? Best and worst? Anyone.

To some I may be BU as I know many people hate leggings. But I need some desperately.
I have painful legs to touch which is under investigation but anything other than leggings hurt.
My old ones that I wear round house are faded and thin.
Want some thick ones that stay black ideally.

And not sure what to wear with them, footwear wise and top wise. I'm 5ft 3 so not very tall. And a size 14.

For cheap I like tesco ones as they have a thicker waist band which helps with my flabby gut lol. If I'm splashing out its JML Hollywood pants all the way. They feel like really really thick tights but look like trousers when on. They hold in and flatten wobbly bits and look much smarter if wearing out with heels and nice top

Another vote for the high waist Primark fleece lined ones. Amazing value and better quality than more expensive ones I have. Jet black too.

London91 · 19/12/2018 21:49

Next and M&S do thick ones for around £20 a pair the quality is decent. Primark do the cosy ones that are lined inside for £5 a pair not see through but do sometimes wear at the crotch but... For a fiver they last a decent amount of time.

I agree with a PP about the Boden ones.

I’ve had bad experiences with primark ones. Find they sag and wrinkle at the knee.

Imalittleelf · 19/12/2018 22:00

Roman originals do 3/4 length or you could get m&s 100 denier temp control tights they are like a soft knit perfect for skirts and dresses.

I wear long tops or long vests under a shorter top... as long as I have something which covers my front and rear bottom.

Generally wear boots, or if they are 3/4 trainers. If you want to wear trainers I have got leg warmers in black thick knit for outside.

Lucy Locket athleisure are so amazingly comfortable, but They're all bright colours and patterned so it depends how confident you are/if you can find some you'd wear.

I got some from White Stuff in the sale last year and they’re really good

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 19/12/2018 22:06

Venuscow perfect black leggings really are the best, different league.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 19/12/2018 22:07

I have 2 pairs of Mint Velvet and love them.

2 pairs of Marks, and one pair is great and the other has a weirdly placed waist.

LittleBird74 · 19/12/2018 22:07

Next, £18 a pair. They are lovely and thick, don’t lose their shape and last really well

FrederickCreeding · 19/12/2018 22:10

I second White Stuff. Really good and don't stretch or sag like other ones I've tried.

mrsbunk · 19/12/2018 22:12

Get some Lululemon ones from eBay. I never pay the full price because they are hideously expensive. Have a browse and don't pay more than 25-30 quid for plain black ones. I've had mine 3 years and they've survived pregnancy and post partum constant wear. They are amazing - brushed cotton soft, durable and thick without showing creases. Plus they shape very nicely too.

mrsbunk · 19/12/2018 22:15

Ps. Check size properly as they use American sizing so their sizing is size down. So your 6 will be their 8 but they are generously cut so if you get a US 10, it'll fit well.
