To think Deliveroo is utter shite

Yes I know I am being U by not making healthy home cooked food, but I wanted junk Grin

Food was delivered 40 mins after ETA stone cold. Was fancy burger and fries, so cold, greasy and rubbery by the time it reached me ugh. Ticket on the bag said it was ready for pick up by 7:50pm, but didn’t reach me until an hour later.

Deliveroo didn’t give a shite and refused refund. Put some credit (not for the full order) on my account but I just want to delete the app and be done with it!

I use Deliveroo a lot, but mainly for sushi and poke bowls so no issue with food going cold

Current problem is that many of the drivers now drive for more than one. You got Deliveroo, UberEats and Just Eat. I absolutely second what @Hadjab said. It takes ages for them to turn up even though you are given time when it should be ready (used to call the driver before with a button).

And really. If you can, order direct from the place. They will be grateful and lots have a discount on their websites

I've had mixed experiences - sometimes it's great, other times the food arrives cold. Once my order didn't turn up, despite receiving an alert that it had just been dropped off. Either the driver decided not to bother delivering it or they took it to the wrong address and the cheeky feckers didn't say anything and ate my dinner.

Deliveroo gave me a full refund to be fair, but it was annoying all the same.

I just ring the takeaway directly. Easier, cheaper and quicker

Ordered food though Deliveroo for my teenagers at home, whilst working on the frontline (NHS).
Food never arrived.
2 hours later on way home from work, I pulled over and ordered again with a Deliveroo, through a different restaurant, as assumed first order hadn't gone through. This second order did arrive.
DELIVEROO- charged for food which didn't arrive!

I was billed for both orders, despite the earlier order having not been delivered. Deliveroo say they will not compensate as they say the food was delivered!!
Surely they need a better system than this? It's not fit for purpose.
Why don't they charge using card reader on the deliver of the goods, for example?
Obviously I can't contemplate using their service again, it's too risky.

surreysue little tip - if they won’t refund, get a charge back from your bank. I did this when an order arrived an hour and a half late and stone cold..!

Not all food lends itself to being delivered. I can hardly think of anything less suitable than burger and chips so I think it might have tasted a bit rank in any case.

One of the taxi companies in our city is delivering food and the delivery fee goes to charity. They are very efficient

katakata · 30/05/2020 17:43

We use Deliveroo or UberEats every Saturday, and they've always been fine here. Deliveroo is flakier than Uber, though: the food's five minutes away, then it jumps to twenty, then two seconds later it's on the doorstep.

I do think that stuff like McDonalds and KFC doesn't travel well, though, and if you can't get it within five minutes then the paper bag it comes in will probably taste better. It's like that Tina Fey quote: 'thirty-five turned into forty faster than McDonalds food turns into cold nonfood'.

This is what I wanted to sat, Plunkplunkfizz.

I order from Deliveroo a lot and it's been fine every time 🤷‍♀️
