Trying to create a positive thread.

I’m still trying to think of mine.

A horse. However, it turned sour 3 weeks later when I had a serious accident from him. Then fiance hadn't had him vetted and he had a really bad back. It was chance that I came off, not him trying to buck me off, but I was never able to get on his back again.

Grey suede pixie boots when I was about 13. I felt them in the sack at the end of my bed in the early hours of Christmas morning and fished them and hugged them till it was time to wake up!!

SingingGoldfinch · 18/12/2018 23:09

Should've read 'fished them out'

littlebillie · 18/12/2018 23:10

Waddsup12 · 18/12/2018 23:22

It wasn't a present but I have a bin with a face on & it took me years to twig it was Dusty Bin...

MaintainTheMolehill · 18/12/2018 23:31

Thanks I've just spent ages on Google image, I wasn't disappointed, I would love one again, 80's toys were the best 😊

TheDogAteMySock · 18/12/2018 23:33

Good thread OP. Mine was an eeyore soft toy donkey that had beans in his body, i've still got it tucked away in a drawer somewhere. I don't know why this one leapt out as most memorable, perhaps because it was bought on the spur of the moment and my parents really didn't do spontaneous gift buying at all. The other memorable one was 'pong' the electronic tennis game. Amazing how far electronic games have come in my lifetime.

One year I got Barbies department store. It has real carrier bags and the tiny pot of powder had a real powder puff. And a few years later I got day to night Barbie and her day to night bedroom/office. I absolutely loved all of them. My favourite presents ever 💗

I don't have a particular present that stands out as a favourite even though I can remember lots of them, but I have random memories of total excitement/contentment.

I remember at 4, waking up in the night and finding my stocking next to me and just being beside myself with excitement. I felt inside and was surprised the things inside were not wrapped. I took out a tiny pink and white dolls house... I think a Polly Pocket knock off, and looking at it in the street light that came through my window. I was so excited but felt really naughty for looking before morning so willed myself back to sleep eyes screwed tight, just so excited. I remember confessing to my brother in the morning that I'd peeped at one in the night.

Lots of memories like that, of feeling excited.

I got an amazing dolls pram when I was about 3 or 4 - my earliest Christmas memory.

A few years later I got a Pound Puppy toy - I adored him and still do Blush

BibiBlocksberg · 18/12/2018 23:52

A watch (my first) & totally unexpected when I was six. Remember a scream of delighted surprise. Weird kid :)

As an Adult, having the (shared) house to myself for 10 glorious days over Christmas. A cat welded to each leg while lounging on the sofa, real fire blazing, glass of wine in hand.

Aaah, memories :)

FlyMayBaubles · 18/12/2018 23:59

Finding out I was pregnant with DS (now 17)
My best Xmas surprise ever Smile

SusieQ5604 · 19/12/2018 00:18

Light blue suede boots when I was 13. And anything my mama got me. Somehow she always knew what I wanted/liked.

I'm single and in the past few years have been buying myself presents! This year, it was an original Clementine Hunter painting. (Well regarded primitive Louisiana artist)
