Issue with the nursing/care home

Hi, I would appreciate some advice please (I'll try to be brief).
My fil is in a nursing home and we have quite a few niggling concerns but I'll just state the few I'm not sure about.
His clothes go missing (quite expensive clothing) and I often find him in other people's clothes.
His property is being damaged for instance the dvd player had been broken (he can't use any of the items), the cd player is broken and 3 drawers are broken in a new piece of furniture which I replaced because the old one was broken!

I'm approaching the home about the above but just wondering if anyone knows where he stands on compensating or do we just have to 'suck it up' ?
(not sure if this makes a difference but the weekly cost is a massive £850)
Thank you

clothes going missing is usual. Do you mark them? A sharpie with his initials on labels would be enough.

I would query why the rest is broken but it could well be your fil? Does he get frustrated?

Hey op
My ddad is in. A nursing home andhas been for over 3 years. Clothes get muddled up ALL the time and things end up in each other’s rooms eg teddies , Blankets etc. Everything is labelled. I don’t know why it happens. Used to happen when my grandmother was in a home nearly 20 years ago too! Don’t send expensive clothes, all my dads clothes are comfy ones from Sainsbury’s and Matalan now. And every single item is labelled with his full name and room number. Even socks.

Btw £850 would be a bargian for a nursing home round here!

Labels on everything. I work in a NH and that is the biggest pain. Relatives bring in new clothes (which is great) they hang them in the wardrobes but don't label them. The laundry people don't see the residents or know them very well. They wash iron and hang. We have just tried to clear a long rail of unmarked clothes by having carers try to remember who they saw them on.
Electrical items, is harder, we mark them too, buy some labels I love these. They have ones for clothes and ones for other items.
We also have a maintence man who is an electrician, he always fixing TV's remotes, DVD players, you name it.

Hi,
Thanks, yes everything is marked even her radio etc.
There is no way he could do this as he is unfortunately immobile.
It's just getting on my nerves and the broken new furniture has annoyed me so much.
