AIBU to consider botox at the age of 27? (See photos)

Expecting to get some stick here but here we go...

I have always taken care of my skin, wearing daily spf and stayed out of the sun where I can! But recently I can't help but notice the lines on my forehead are getting worse.... shallow I know but am I bonkers to consider botox at the age of 27?

My theory being that it would delay it getting worse early on? I haven't carried out thorough research yet this is early days!

Has anyone else had it in their 20s/early 30s? What is your experience?

I have posted about this once before but I think it’s worth saying again...

I had Botox a few times. Shortly afterwards, it was discovered that I had an auto immune disease affecting my thyroid. Since then, I have been in ever-increasing amounts of synthetic thyroxine.

Of course, I will never know whether this was just coincidence or had something to do with the Botox. I had a good google a few years back and I am certainly not the only person asking whether they are linked.

Just in case they are, I would certainly never have Botox again, although I was very happy with the cosmetic results.

Thyroid problems are truly shit and affect your health, your moods, your relationships, your job, the way you look and so much more. I wish I had never tried Botox just in case it was this that kicked off my auto immune disease.

Worth bearing in mind.

@shecamefromgreece thanks very helpful!! I so much want to do it!!!!

@wish you're probably right! That's the reason I haven't gone for it so far. Hope you're better now?

Great thread. I’m 30 and wanting it too. These lines have suddenly appeared from nowhere. I have a great skincare routine using acids, retinoids and daily SPF. This is my relaxed (sob!) forehead. Luckily I’m in touch with a plastic surgeon who can do it so I’ll speak with them this weekend.

Interested to see others outcomes

@FuckingHateRain Thanks but no, that’s the whole point, i will never be better, only progressively worse. That’s why I think having Botox is a risk that’s just not worth taking...

Sorry to derail (slightly), but has anybody had anything done to their smile lines (i.e. from nose to the outer corner of their lip)? I'm 39 and have always had deep smile lines, but they're depressing me a bit now.

I have a long face with a high forehead, very pronounced cheekbones and jawline and am definitely starting to look a bit Gothic (in the old school meaning of the word) these days...

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 16/12/2018 22:19

Go for it.

I bloody love it and wish I had started sooner
I had my first lot at 31.
I have it done twice a year as it lasts 6 months for me and the lines don't come back as bad.

My lines were awful. I could have screwed a hat on ha. Grin

ItWasOneTime · 16/12/2018 22:32

I don't think your forehead wrinkles look very noticable OP...though saying that I'm 30 and noticed my first forehead wrinkle a few days ago Shock

@ThistleAmore
Google "nasiolabial filler" - for the lines I think you mean then fillers are used to plump out the skin rather than botox.

ThistleAmore · 16/12/2018 22:44

Thanks, @ItWasOneTime - that's exactly what I mean! Grin

Hi all
I have had Botox and fillets for the last 8 years and absolutely love the results. I only go to one doctor who is fab and has the opinion that less is more and that people should look at you and say you look good not what have you had done.
Rupert Critchley of Viva Clinics in London is amazing
I’d say go for it but definitely thoroughly check out your practitioner first

bananafish81 · 17/12/2018 00:59

Had it first done last year (aged 36)

Absolutely thrilled with the results

Have had so many people tell me how well I'm looking - often asking if I've changed my hair, that the colour really suits me etc. When I tell them it's botox, they certainly do a very good impression of being shocked (given that according to MN you can ALWAYS tell if someone's had it done)

One very dear friend was quite indignant, as she had always insisted she could spot botox a mile off!

IAteMyGrandma · 17/12/2018 01:25

I’m making this a priority in the new year. I’m only 32 and my forehead is awful. Wrinkles seem to have crept up suddenly over the last couple of years and two babies. Nowhere else on my face, but I can’t believe how much I’ve aged Sad
