To pass on my amazing pedicure discovery?

I have had a bottle of Creamy Cuticle Remover in my makeup drawer for some time and occasionally put some on my nails. Today I decided that if this stuff somehow softens and dissolves cuticles, then it must do the same to the hard skin on my feet so I poured some on, waited a couple of minutes and then attacked them with large cheese grater type thing for feet.

It was amazing! The hard skin all seemed to turn to a sort of latex texture and stripped off easily in huge quantities. My feet are now the softest and pinkest they have been since I was a child.

Warning: do not attempt this if you are in a hurry. It is oddly addictive. Wish I’d known about this years ago.

Can you link to the product?

AviatorShades · 16/12/2018 16:37

Cuticle remover, you say?
Right! I'm off the internet for a while....Smile

Thanks, OP

Zeb81 · 16/12/2018 16:37

Link or name please!

mrsgregorypeck · 16/12/2018 16:39

It is by a company called Strictly Professional and I bought it on Amazon. I’d imagine that any cuticle remover would work, though. Is quite a large bottle called Creamy Cuticle Remover.

I’ve spent a fortune over the years on Footner, electric rotating hard skin removers, chiropodist visits, and various creams but this is by far the best result I’ve ever achieved.

Nice one!

I have a foot tip as well. I think. Anyway I use anti dandruff shampoo on my feet. I squirt a blob onto scrubby mitts and use them to go over my feet - just a little scrub, nothing too exerting and usually every other day. I have always had to tackle thick callous on my feet but since I've been doing the anti dandruff thing, it's been alot more manageable.

£5.49 on Amazon with delivery before Christmas. I don’t know how to link, I’m afraid.

My foot spa tip is a cap of mouthwash in the water, corsodyl, listerine whatever. Your toesies will zing with delight I promise.

WindyWednesday · 16/12/2018 16:45

Strictly Professional is a salon basic brand.

Cuticle remover dissolves the bond between skin and nails, so it will dissolve skin basically. Don’t get it anywhere near your eyes, it will dissolve those too.

mrsgregorypeck · 16/12/2018 16:49

And thanks for the anti dandruff shampoo tip! Will try this as well.

Ooh, I actually winced out loud, windywednesday

WindyWednesday · 16/12/2018 16:51

IMO it shouldn’t be sold to the general public. It’s a dangerous product in the wrong hands. I’m a beauty therapist and trained to use it. You have to be really careful with it. It’s not a nice product, certainly don’t rub it on your skin and leave it on.

mrsgregorypeck · 16/12/2018 16:53

Spanish Tiles: what does the mouthwash do for feet, apart from make them feel good? Kill any bacteria, possibly?

I have a microplane foot rasp, when I bought it it said on the packaging:
From the Woodworking shop, to the Kitchen, to the Beauty Salon Grin

Bit scared after WindyWednesday warning it will dissolve your eyeballs Grin

mrsgregorypeck · 16/12/2018 17:18

Yes, that’s it!

To be used with caution, though, it seems. Avoid pouring it into the eyeballs, and wash hands carefully after use. Actually, I think I may put thin rubber gloves on in future when using this. Thanks for the warning about its potential dangers, Windy.

I might not joking about the eyeballs. It’s easier than you think. Stray hair in your eyes, swipe it out of the way while dissolving cuticles and it’s in your eyes.

You need a drop of it for all five fingers.

HestiaParthenos · 16/12/2018 17:53

I find that taking a nice hot foot bath with salt (just ordinary salt, without any additives) keeps the feet in good shape.

Just soak them for half an hour and you can just rub the skin flakes off with a towel.
