Everyone on MN seems to be busy, busy, busy all the time - I'm starting to feel inadequate! Anyone else just pootling along?

I agree with other posters, some people are busy and some are not. It actually has very little to do with how many tasks you have to complete and more to do with the sort of personality you have.

It's so dark and miserable outside, I am quite happy the kids have loads to entertain them indoors, in term of parties and Christmas activities. It's really not all negative.

I do feel extra busy. I work full time as a secondary teacher, and we have mocks and tests for all years, reports, observations, parents' evening all in the last two weeks. My children are teens but are artsy, drama types with concerts, and I have a large, close extended family, so lots of Christmas stuff even when we keep it simple. So, yes, it is especially busy.

Schools do have alot to answer for whipping them up so much. And for god sake do one production for the whole.school so parents with more than one child don't have to come over and over.

Why can't parents gather a little bit of enthusiasm for their kids plays? We are all in the same boat, no one gives a monkey about other people's children, they go on a bit, but come on, it's not that bad.

I actually love all the stuff that my child's school does and so does he! However, I have only one child in school and so far my work have been fairly flexible about letting me attend. He had an assembly today which was at 3pm and was 10 mins. I was supposed to be at work at 1 so I had to take 3 hours leave to watch him. It was worth it to see his little face light up, however there was just one child who's parents couldn't be there and I could have cried for him. I don't blame them though - we were given 12 days notice and they have a nativity performances at 2.30 tomorrow and 9.30 Wednesday. Sometimes it isn't about not having enthusiasm!

Oh trust me, I did! I was at every class assembly, Xmas play, musical recital, sports day, you name - I was there throughout primary. Every.single.thing. I enjoyed much of it but don't miss it now she's at high school.

I am not as busy as I like to make out to everyone Grin. Not going out as being sensible with money

I am busy (and behind) with Work recently and avoiding it by binging on Netflix in the evenings and housework

Xmas presents all bought, DD wrapped them all. Big family Xmas which I will give ££ to my Dsis for the food shop she is getting delivered, we did the list yesterday. Working Xmas day and then pack up car drive to her house (pick up my DC from their dad) cook lots of food, sleep badly and then go home with a million bags of crap

No school age children, so not manically busy either. OP you are not alone.

I'm more busy than usual, because I like to get involved in what my GC school is doing/putting on and fit a couple of Christmas themed days out in, with them and other relatives.

I planned a day out with my youngest DD, but we've had stomach bugs back, so three days have been a write off, which is frustrating.

My rabbits are more work in this weather because they get bored.

The washing is more difficult to do and dry. You can't do things when you want to because of the Weather. I need to tidy the front garden but it's been bitter out.

I have more babysitting to do, because of nights out.

So more has to be crammed into less time.
