Actually we know that the vast majority of you are treasures and heroes and we do appreciate your endless patience and hard work despite being undervalued and underpaid, even if AIBU says otherwise Flowers

I have my own laminator and buy my own pouches from Home Bargains - they're really cheap Smile I load the pouches and DH puts them through and cuts out, he's a good assistant.

My DH said he didn't realise that marrying me meant he'd have to work full time in his own job and be my TA at home, as well as school duties like painting and decorating, helping at events, doing displays, moving furniture in my classroom and sorting out handyman stuff for the head. He's a good egg, but people don't realise how underfunded we are.

Thank you OP.

Thank you! That’s very nice to hear. Definitely email your child’s school to let them know.

StitchingMoss · 13/12/2018 21:02

Aw, thank you!!!! I love my job and I love my kids and most of the parents are fab!

The horrible parents have made me cry in the past but I’ve become a bit more thick skinned over time Confused.

Lazybonita · 13/12/2018 21:03

I adore my children’s school. The teachers are fab and work so bloody hard. Thank you teachers 💐

Kevinbaconsrealwife · 13/12/2018 21:05

Totally unbeknown to him if I ever meet my DSD,s “ Old” A level history teacher he’s getting the hug and kiss of his life!!!! She ummed and aah-ed for bloody ages about Uni/ Work/ Apprenticeships ...we discussed everything to the nth degree until this wonderful man said “ apply to Uni to get a place and if you change your mind just let them know”.....she is now in her final year at Uni on course for a 2:1 ....we have a lot to thank that teacher for......( my DH is fully aware that if I ever run up to a strange man in their old hometown and hug and kiss the life out of him , it’s pefectly fine....lol) Thank you all Teachers....xx

Treezylover · 13/12/2018 21:08

You’re all more than welcome, I think watching the bbc school documentary should be compulsory viewing.

I think our teachers know how much we love them as they are regularly hugged and thanked, but I do worry that when the kids are in high school we won’t have the same relationships built up over years- it’s going to be so sad!

I'm really not sure I would still have residence of my children if it weren't for my DC's teacher and some of the staff at their school.
I'm not sure I would actually still be here, tbh.

Laloup1 · 13/12/2018 21:11

Hear hear!
teachers are truly awesome 👏

Hunkyd0ry · 13/12/2018 21:14

Thank you very much!
Just done a 12 hour day due to Christmas play and this means a lot.

One parent wrote a single sentence, saying thank you, in a Christmas card and it's my favourite card! Means such a lot.

PeroniZucchini · 13/12/2018 21:16

I agree. I have two dds of secondary age and I have nothing but respect for their teachers.

EdwardBear1920 · 13/12/2018 21:19

Cheers from me too! You're doing an awesome job!

GosteadyEddie · 13/12/2018 21:22

For Christmas this year all the teachers have china mugs with ' The struggle is real' on it with a packet of ground coffee inside Grin

GosteadyEddie · 13/12/2018 21:25

I'd like to add though that I don't believe 'all' teachers are awesome.
I do understand the stresses (I work as a HLTA and have 3 kids at school) but I do think some struggle to 'enjoy' it. There are some amazing teachers but there are also some who should not be in it at all.

Hubbleisback · 13/12/2018 21:27

A kind word from a parent stopped me resigning.

Bobbiepin · 13/12/2018 21:29

Pritt stick and laminating pouches??

faints

SachaStark · 13/12/2018 21:38

Thank you for this thread, OP!

Anything like this means so much.

I had a little tear up when the parent of an SEN student said how much her son loved my lessons at the carol concert this week.

Treezylover · 13/12/2018 21:39

I'd like to add though that I don't believe 'all' teachers are awesome.

Wouldn’t be quite the same morale boost if we said ‘some of you teachers are great but others are a bit shit’ though, would it? There are about a million other threads about ‘bad’ teachers- this was one to counteract them 👍🏼

Thank you.
Most parents are awesome. (It's the unreasonable ones who then get arsey when you point out they are unreasonable who are the issue).

I had a lovely call last week from a parent with concerns. They were polite and reasonable and totally right in their issues. I wished I could have recorded it (along with many other calls) and have it on mumsnet as an example of how the vast majority of parents manage to raise issues or concerns.

alwayslearning789 · 13/12/2018 21:43

Indeed Indeed...

Thank You for everything that you do.

It is very much appreciated.

sallysummer · 13/12/2018 21:44

A lovely small school. We have A3 and and A4 laminating pouches plus laminator, no signs of acadmisation, TAs in each class and we even have glue sticks!!

You're spoilt rotten! I wouldn't be leaving teaching if I worked at your school. We have no TAs, no glue sticks, the laminator is broken and are being dragged into a MAT. Oh and admissions are down so redundancies are on the horizon.

PumpkinPiloter · 13/12/2018 21:53

I appreciate my children's teachers hugely. Thank you for all your hard work and care!

RebelWitchFace · 13/12/2018 22:02

A parent told me a few weeks ago that their kid who has ASD ,other difficulties(behavioural, social and emotional) and struggles to bond absolutely loves me. Best day ever!!

BackforGood · 13/12/2018 22:03

How do I get a job at IceRebel's school ?

Thank you Treezylover for starting the thread

Maelstrop · 13/12/2018 22:11
