My housing officer is a pain in the ...
Every other week she's knocking about something ..keep garden tidier (it's fine ) etc etc.
I seen her car at the top of road earlier and 20 mins ago there was a knock.
I'm sat eating my dinner and she just knocks again and opens the door.
My own stupid fault as the parcel guy came earlier and carrying the heavy box forgot to go back to lock it.
That's not right surely ?

I think now is the time to report her. Keep a log of everything in case she does get worse after you report.

Local authority housing officers
Local authority housing officers can enter for various reasons, such as to enforce a compulsory purchase order, enforce notices to repair or demolish, or to inspect housing conditions. Housing officers need written authority and must give 24 hours’ notice. It is a criminal offence to get in their way.

It should be remembered that this is for LA housing officers. Not housing association housing officers. So not actually relevant to a housing officer from a HA carrying out some sort of annual inspection. That's basically to give LA's the authority to go into properties that shitty landlords let out in poor repair.

ozonelayer I used to have a garden where everything blew in. It was horrible in winter, as I'd have to pick up crisp packets half filled with water. Yuck.

I don't know the layout of your garden or whether you intend to stay there for ages, so ignore my ideas if they aren't relevant.

Our front garden had a low wall with railings in it. We had tried attaching plastic mesh to the railing but it kept slipping down and looked horrible. We ended up putting in a hedge, pruning it hard so it was really thick at the bottom, and rolled fine green chicken wire between the hedge and the railing. It stopped the worst of the stuff rolling in.

Lala. It’s actually the same thing.

Usually 24 hours notice is given for a visit but legally an LA or HA can also make unannounced visits if there is a reason to do so (usually in the case of anti social behaviour or other tenancy breaches). They can also require immediate entry if there is an emergency.

HO’s really don’t have time to waste on numerous visits if they are unwarranted.

Perhaps the fact that you were clearly in but refusing to answer the door made the situation worse.

The op doesnt have to open the door though, its her house. She can swing form the chandeliers if she so wishes.
Op i think you need to ring her manager and then send an email or registered letter.Thats just not on.

Its just getting worse,so you need to do something now.

With my wages and my boyfriends wage (it varies but the min ) it would be a month would be around £2600 so I think we can manage.
We don't need fancy things straight away.
We can do the main rooms first.
Sky isn't a necessity.
Freeview/DVD's more than enough
