Comfiest bras

I need to find some comfy bras! The first thing I do when I get home now is whip mine off - and I don’t wear fancy ones - just good old M&S simple and plain styles.

Can anyone recommend a really comfy bra brand? I’m a 34 or 36 C!

tesco direct ceased being last year i think

StepAwayFromGoogle · 12/12/2018 20:15

How do you know what size to get in the M&S bralet? I'm a 32E but it just says 8, 10, 12 etc

19lottie82 · 12/12/2018 20:18

I wear these day to day and they are BLISS Grin

I’m a size 16 and a 38C / 36D and wear an XL.......

Honestly, they have changed my life. No more wires digging in, no more bra backs riding up, no more straps sliding off my shoulders....... you get the picture!

I tried ThirdLove bras a few months back, which is a US brand, but they ship to the UK. Their seamless non-wired lounge bra (basically a bralette) is the best bra I've ever had. Even their underwired bras are incredibly comfortable, I have a few of their classic t-shirt bras, and a few of the cotton t-shirt ones. They're not cheap, but I don't think I'd ever buy anything else now, as they're worth every penny.

IHeartMarmiteToast · 12/12/2018 20:23

Get down to bravissimo

woodhill · 12/12/2018 20:23

I'm in the correct size but have red marks and rough skin on my back from underwired bras digging in.

I like the bra let's

Maybenexttime08 · 12/12/2018 20:37

Definitely seems that getting rid of the wire is the answer!

Maybe try the correct size first

Maybenexttime08 · 12/12/2018 20:42

@dementedpixie - yup size is important. I find that it also depends on manufacturer- hence why size differs sometimes.

I would just try the size you would buy in a top OP. I'm a 32-34B and the size 10 fits nicely.

SantaClauseMightWork · 12/12/2018 20:52

Can anyone please post a link to these braletts? I just don’t understand how how these bras fit size E if they are not proper bras?

SantaClauseMightWork · 12/12/2018 20:53

I am 34E-F.

MintCassis · 12/12/2018 20:57

I love these M&S ones. So comfortable and sit nicely under clothes.

poppiesallykatie · 12/12/2018 21:04

The Freya brand, but I do think everyone will have a particular brand that suits them best, due to the huge variety in breast shape. I have been everything from a 34 E to a 38 H (pregnancies, weight gain, weight loss) and always this brand has been the most comfortable at each size. and has the best looking shape… for me at least. Much trip and error involved. I would recommend against pour moi bras, as three of these I have tried in the last 2 years have had wires that just poked through the fabric and with my sewing skills, I can’t get the wire to go back in and stay in. I have only recently become aware of bralettes and how they are supposed to be softer/more comfortable, but don’t own one yet.

MrsAmaretto · 12/12/2018 21:12

Do bralettes give enough support though?

driggle · 12/12/2018 21:14

Another vote here for VS. I recently had my post-baby boobs measured at VS and once I had the correct size I hardly noticed I was wearing a bra compared to the two sizes too small one I wore there. I'd like to treat myself to more but at £30 a pop I may have to ask Santa.

StoneofDestiny · 12/12/2018 21:27

M&S bralette - no more underwired for me either.

Bunnymumma · 12/12/2018 21:39

@StepAwayFromGoogle I buy my regular top size, which is a 12. Utter perfection for me!

@SantaClauseMightWork I was super sceptical too. Bought one and was back in two days later for another five of the bloody things! And that's with an E/F cup size to contend with!

phlebasconsidered · 12/12/2018 21:47

I'm a 32 F and I would LOVE a decent non wired. I'm in the bloody things from 6am till 10pm and I hate them.

I like my sports bras but theyre too full on for all day. I can't have them squished that much all day. They get too sweaty amfor one thing! Plus a "shelf" boob isn't always good when you are in front of a class all day. I need some separation, some minimisation, and a high cup so i don't show when leaning forward. Could the MS bralettes cope?

GabsAlot · 12/12/2018 22:08

anyone know what size the bralets go up to?

DaysOfCurlySpencer · 12/12/2018 22:13

Are bralettes any good for heavy boobs that defy gravity and want to be at knee height?

Would love to be wire free, and hate those foam cups.

phatamy · 12/12/2018 22:22

Boux Avenue Lounge Bra - best thing EVER!

fadingfast · 12/12/2018 22:25

This is the comfiest bra I've ever owned. It's underwired but very soft and stretchy. When I was first measured and fitted with it in John Lewis (years ago) the fitting lady said that I would never want to wear another bra after this one, and she was right. I found you needed to size down on the back size Smile

"This is the comfiest bra I've ever owned."

Ah yes, triumph have some soft fabrics, I would second them too for comfort.

tumpymummy · 13/12/2018 01:07

I ditched underwired bras and now wear bralette style ones from Primark. Only £5.
