Cyclists yelling at me

Ok so I crossed the road just now holding my DS, it was dark and I didn't see a cyclist. He didn't have lights on and it was very dark. Luckily I saw him, he was quite far still, maybe 10m away and I got a shock. I said 'Oops, sorry!'

He then yelled at me 'You are carrying a child, jeez!'

I just got a bit annoyed and yelled back 'you haven't got a light on!!'

Anyway, he cycled off.

I guess I should have checked the street better but.. I genuinely didn't see him, I saw a car coming from the other direction as it had its lights on but not him.

So annoyed at the mum-shaming when he didn't have his blinking lights on!!

If he had no lights on it was obv his fault. Sounds like a twat.

He probs got a shock that he very nearly had a collision with a child. If he was 10m away, that's about 1 second if he's going at say 30kmh. That's a close call.

I hate the ones with no lights and dark clothing at this time of year. I m a car driver and we can't see you!! The one on a busy dual carriageway is the prize twat of twatdom.
Yanbu but he would have shouted if you'd been on your own. All over defensive coz he nearly hit you so blamed you.

It's all very well looking for cyclists in the dark, but it really does help to actually spot them if they have lights and hi-vis.

He was doubly in the wrong, for his attempts to camoflage and become roadkill, and then to shout at you because you couldn't see him.

I am always incencsed by cyclists who don't stick to the laws of the road, then shout and scream at you when you make a mistake because you don't see them. Most recently I had one jump red lights then yell at me when I was already crossing the junction on the green light because he almost went into me. Utter twunt.

Almost killed one who was cycling in the dark, no lights, high vis or helmet and swerved out into the road right in front of me. Luckily I thought his cycling looked a little off and had slowed right down just before it happened. Thought he was drunk, but it turned out to be my neighbour, off his face on skunk as usual .

He yelled because he had a fright, and you were right about the lights. You said sorry, so there was no reason for himhim to get so angry. Chalk it up to him being a dick and move on.
