Not sure if this is the right place to post but hopefully I’ll be able to get a bit of advice. Also, this is medically related but I feel it’s too small to go to the gp about?

A month ago (at least, possibly longer) I felt a weird itchy lump on the back on my thigh. It was particularly big or persistently itchy but it’s gotten bigger, itchier and more red lately. When I showed it to my DP he said it felt like a burn but it’s definitely not that.

I had a brain wave the other day and remember a fairy similar lump I got on my leg a few years ago which felt like a burn as well and when I showed it to my mum she said it felt like eczema. I’m wondering if anyone who has experience with eczema can suggest what it feel or looks like?

It’s a red, itchy lump which has flattened down to feel more like loose skin almost. About the size of a 50 pence piece.

Why would you not go to the GP? Nothing is too small, go, get it checked and be reassured it's all ok Smile

Could be psoriasis or excema. You should go to the GP and get it checked as they'll actually be able to diagnose it unlike a bunch of strangers on the internet.

Thanks for the reassurance that it’s okay to go to the gp. With the huge waiting lists for gp and a bit of anxiety about stuff like that it felt like too insignificant thing to go to the doctors for but I’ve been getting a bit more worried about it lately so I should go!

If you really didn't want to go to the GP, a pharmacist would also be able to give you a good idea.
That said, if it's recurrent and annoying then it's not wasting the doctor's time. Just go.

A pharmacist would most likely be happy to look and tell you if a GP trip is needed if you need reassurance it is warranted. Eczema can massively vary in appearance and how it feels
