to ask you to plan my christmas alone?

Long story very short: Live with parents/siblings but do not get on, currently trying to move out. We go to my extended family's house for dinner after opening presents with each other.

I'm planning on not being involved in gift giving during the morning this year as my gifts are always unappreciated and I don't expect/want anything back anyway. I do not want to attend dinner with extended family to give them more opportunity to criticise me like usual.

so I plan to stay in bed in the morning, pj's all day, get the christmas films going and stockpile snacks and nice drinks. Do any of you have suggestions of what other things I can do except christmas films?

I did consider volunteering but do not want to leave the house & a new person I've been seeing for about 2 months has offered me to attend christmas with his family but I feel too awkward about it.

This is aibu op and people are going to give their opinions as to whether you are being unreasonable. If you didn't want opinions then you should have posted in the chat or Christmas topics.

I also think it comes across as being petulant. This is not what you want to hear I know but if I were your family and you didn't engage at all then I think it would spoil the atmosphere for everyone else. Can't you bite your tongue, exchange token gifts and keep the mantra in your head that this is the last one- next year will be different. Once you have exchanged gifts and eaten dinner then you could excuse yourself for an indulgent Xmas evening alone without it being awkward for anyone including you

If, God forbid for a long time, I have Christmas Day planned. Early mass locally then into the city for main, choral mass with all the trimmings and then home for Elizabeth David as above.

I know you said you didn’t want to leave the house but getting out just for a bit might do wonders for your mind.
