Aibu to hate loud music

Ive just come home from yet another party that I havent enjoyed . It started out okay with some lowkey music in the background while the guests assembled. Lots of catching up to do,lots of laughs and a cocktail to help things along meant all was going swimmingly. But once the buffet had been cleared away the music volume went up several notches.
The effect was that most of the chat stopped abruptly. Bus stop conversations are hard to keep track of when you are yelling replies into your neighbours ears.
So the evening more or less ended at the buffet . I dont want to sit listening to music I cant dance to and smiling at people I can't talk to.
My taxi was booked for 12 but I called and ordered it to come early and here I am sitting in my pyjamas wondering why I forked out £65 yet again for a ruined evening.
Why do DJs think that we all want our ears blasted off just because they have an amplifier?

Because the venues sell more beer when people have to self-medicate in order to tolerate the racket? If that's not it, I'm stumped.

I feel your pain OP. I hate amplified music.

You paid £65 to go for a buffet and a chat?

Welcome to old, you'll like it here as time goes by Smile

YABVVU. Parties are for music. If you want tea and chat go to your grannies (and it won't cost you £65)
