To think people shouldn't be so quick to say LTB?

In several threads it has occurred to me the advice should in fact be KTBO.

What does the O stand for?

RiverTam · 08/12/2018 22:03

Kick the bastard out?

I think ltb simply means don’t be with that person anymore.

incallthebloodytime · 08/12/2018 22:03

Knock the bloke out

The reason that's not said is that many are victims of DV

And violence isn't something to be encouraged

RosieCockle · 08/12/2018 22:03

Out?

BunsOfAnarchy · 08/12/2018 22:03

Kick the bastard out?

Caprisunorange · 08/12/2018 22:04

Agreed, particularly when children are involved

Oysterbabe · 08/12/2018 22:04

What?

Caprisunorange · 08/12/2018 22:07

I’ve completely misread your OP 🤣 not helped by not knowing wtf ktbo means. I thought you were just saying that Mn was too quick to say ltb

Singlenotsingle · 08/12/2018 22:09

Ktbo? Be careful he doesn't kyo! Especially if he's into DV!

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 08/12/2018 22:13

I thought it was 'kill the bastard' which is why I was wondering about the 'O'

DaphneDiligaf · 08/12/2018 22:21

Certainly not advocating real violence but there is at least one, possibly two, threads running where the OP is the main breadwinner and should not be giving up her home to her feckless other half. Neither involve DV where I would certainly be advocating LTB.

To be fair though in some cases I do think LTB is said too easily, especially when OP is just having a rant about something petty but very annoying to them at that moment!

Kill the bastard off or kick the bastard out?

Singlenotsingle · 08/12/2018 22:27

LTB isn't always meant seriously. It's often tongue in cheek

DaphneDiligaf · 08/12/2018 22:28

Kick the bastard out.

When people say LTB I think they generally mean just leave the relationship, not necessarily the home.

DaphneDiligaf · 08/12/2018 23:01

#When people say LTB I think they generally mean just leave the relationship, not necessarily the home.#

Ah right thats OK then, I'm overthinking it.
Thanks.
