To not like my spice rack?!

I've got one as a present despite having said no thank you to the offer.

Its such an innocuous item but it just bothers me to look at! My best friend thinks it's odd not to have one. So does the gift buyer clearly.

Does everyone own one?

Apologies for that messed up post editing.

Mine are in a cupboard and I have far too many for a spice rack and some are I buy in bigger amounts anyway.
I remember them from way back when they were popular,my step mum had one but never to my knowledge used a herb or spice in the food she cooked.

Spices also keep better in a dark place away from the heat.

We keep our basics in the box - the ones we use every day. It just makes it easier as you can take the box down if you need to find something rather than rooting through the whole cupboard and taking jars down one by one.The ones we use less often sit on the shelf itself.

I have a set of shelves devoted to spices and cooking ingredients but it's not a spice rack, it's just normal shelves.

Pointless waste of space imo

ErNothankyou · 09/12/2018 10:32

It's only half full. (It didn't come with spices) I clearly don't use a wide range of flavours.

I must confess though.... I used them lunch and dinner yesterday when cooking.... because they were to hand. Its growing on me.

I have a couple of narrow alcoves dedicated to herbs and spices with various racks and shelving. I've done a rough count of the jars, packets and tubs and I've about 60!
I do a lot of cooking though.
