Visiting a tropical location for NYE (yes a stealth boast Grin )
I am usually eaten alive!
Please help with your tried and tested recommendations!
Does Vit B or garlic capsules work?
Drinking Apple Cider Vinegar?
Any natural, chemical free sprays / sun cream recommendations?
Thank you Xmas Smile

Incognito is excellent.

Thanks everyone, also added to my Amazon shopping basket the Deep Woods and will pick up antihistamine.
Determined not to return from this holiday with scabby itchy body looking like I’m recovering from some awful disease Grin

Don't put the Avon stuff over DEET. It might dilute the repellent effect.

Avon SSS is totally useless in anything other then Devon in June. As is any recommendation to eat marmite or garlic. Incognito worked well in the UK and France but failed miserably in Spain.

Anywhere tropical or with bush im afraid the only thing that works is

  1. the highest level of DEET spray and
  2. MOST important is covering up just before dusk. I mean totally covering up. Leggings long sleeve top. You can theoretically uncover a little once it's dark but spray again and be vigilant (Canadian bush and Soith island NZ you had to be in thick jeans and a hoody with the hood up all night. The bastards there bite through leggings!)
  3. Auto mozzie spray in bedroom and put on a fan. They cant land in a breeze but you'll need it on gale force to keep them off you

I'm like a smorgasbord to mozzies and I've lived in Canadian forests, Australian bush and now NZ. Believe me. Years and years of getting bitten to shreds and I'm now mercifully almost bite free by following the golden rules above.
