He's just so spot on and gets it every morning. Today he's talking about the hypocrisy of Tory's that have tried to introduce policies like the bed room tax, disability cuts and universal credit but are now posing with giving food to a bank. Absolutely disgusting and shameful

TwistedStitch It was Posie. I listened to the original broadcast but only realised that recently when I posted it on another forum to someone who was singing his praises.

She's learned a lot since then. I bet he wouldn't dare do that now.

Thanks limited, I thought it sounded like her. I've heard him on this issue since the backlash he got from that segment. He now pays a bit of lip service to the idea of women's worries but is still pretty dismissive (women's concerns are theoretical whereas the poor oppressed transwomen are the reality)- and so respectful when talking to transgender people about it compared to the tone he uses for women. He also compared GC feminists to homophobes who are actually closeted homosexuals- apparently such feminists may be hostile because they are struggling with their own sense of self.

Yep, spot on. He is dead right about the Tories being heartless fuckers, and it's extremely entertaining hearing him take Brexiteers to pieces. He's so bloody pleased with himself though, and was totally obnoxious to Posie when she rang in to talk her usual clear good sense about men in women's spaces

He took down someone yesterday who called to say he voted leave because of the all the money spent on interpreters in the NHS for staff that don't speak English. (I think that was gist, turned it on part way through.) Of course hardly any of them are actually for European staff as they generally speak English really well. But the caller hadn't even looked at the basic stats before voting leave because of this very issue that seemed to be all made up in his head.

He is condescending though and sometimes it makes me squirm and I have to turn it off.

His producers choose his callers. If someone called in with a valid and cogent Brexit argument they wouldn't get on. And if they did slip through the net he'd have words with the person who let it happen.

It suits his purpose to get people on who are no match for him and then to make them look like fools for the entertainment of his fans and an ego boost to himself.

I understand that. His show is entertainment. It's people thinking that it's something more profound that get on my tits.

Because I am liberal and left wing - which is not necessarily the same thing - I sometimes agree with him. It's unusual to hear my points of view expressed on a popular outlet so I like that.

And yet...He doesn't express my views and worse is a bully who enjoys eviscerating callers to his show. Exactly the same as Vanessa Feltz who is another clever but very spiteful person who is inexplicably worshipped on Mumsnet.

You might have an education from Ampleforth - the Catholic Eton - like O'Brien or an Engiish degree from Cambridge like Feltz, but it is never a good look to belittle people when you have all the power - including the off-button. That's what both of them do. Can I also remind you that Vanessa Feltz is a columnist for the Daily Express and she doesn't go against the grain.

They are cunts.
