I'm having a bit of trouble trying to work out which lamp and bulb to get for a bright beside experience!

I find lamps that state maximum wattage but I can't work out if that's the 100watt equivalent light or the 13watt that the bulb now is bc it's led or whatever!

I know nothing about lighting Sad

What should I be looking for to get a really bright bedside lamp ?

Lumens measure light.
Watts measure power throughput.

So now our light bulbs don't get hot, they're not losing the energy to heat, so you can get more light/lumens from lower wattage.

The maximum wattage thing was that the bulbs got too hot for the shades shades and the fitments.

Thanks. So if it says maximum wattage for the lamp is 40w does that mean the new bulb of 13w is ok, even though it's a 100w equivalent?

Yep.

Ah brilliant, thank you. Been driving myself nuts trying to find a super bright bedside lamp for a gift Smile
