Low (practically non-existent) Progesterone

NC as its easy to work out who I am from my other posts if you know me IRL. I've been here a while, penis beaker, Mr Fucking Boswell, fat balls etc.

Finally had all the results back of all the tests I've had done. My progesterone is at 1% and should be at about 30%. When googling the symptoms of low progesterone, I have most.

The Dr said I'm not ovulating and has given me Clomid. I have to take this on days 2-6 of my cycle and call up on day 2 to get booked in for a scan. She's given me 3 rounds of it. This is the extent of the information she gave me. She was a covering Dr as my normal Dr had had an emergency and had to leave.

My cycle is all over the place and I have no idea when AF will next come. I have a prescription for provera but she said don't take it yet as it could cause AF to come over Christmas and the scan clinic will be shut.

Does anyone have any experience of no/low progesterone or Clomid?
Did you have a good outcome in the end?
Is low progesterone an easy fix?
Whats the difference between this and menopause I.e. how come they aren't just saying its early menopause?

Well I didn't have 1%, but I had 10% or something. I was referred to the fertility clinic for presumed Clomid but in the meantime I took big doses of Vitamin B6 and I got pregnant that very cycle.

So quite a dramatic result. But again, it was more than your percentage. But in my experience it was a suprisingly easy fix.

I don't think I've ever ovulated in my life other than twice and I got pregnant both months. But I'm certainly not in early menopause.

I do however have to watch my endometrial lining, as progesterone keeps it fruom growing too thick. I've had the Mirena in for a long time to keep it in check and it seems to be doing a great job. But before I had a lot of bleeding and it turns out it was my low progesterone.

Progesterone is measured at a specific time in the menstrual cycle to determine ovulation. So at day 21 in a 28 day cycle. If ovulation has occurred there's a surge of progesterone. A level of 30 and above indicates ovulation. Below 30 suggests no ovulation and in these circumstances clomid can be used to stimulate the ovaries. Individuals need varying doses of the drug but usually everyone starts at the lowest dose and is then monitored in the first month to check if that dose has worked or if it needs increasing. One way of checking is with a scan. If you have irregular periods then taking medication to cause a bleed can be used. Always check a pregnancy test before taking this. Clomid is only licensed in the UK for a few months so you need to time everything carefully so you can be monitored correctly and not "waste" any cycles.
