I don't get these comments, MN is full of people, the same random you walk past in the street, no worst no better. I think they are more honest sometimes, and that can hurt. In real life, no one will say to your face that they think you are ugly/ a cheeky fucker/ lazy/ rude, but they will think it just the same and possibly gossip about you behind your back.

I don't think posters invent an opinion, they just have a safe and anonymous place to voice it, whether it's wanted or not.

I have been called a troll but I was only trying to help by giving the op another way of looking at the situation. I find some of the people who who start threads come across as manipulative in AIBU. I was on one thread and a woman wanted a war with her husband rather than communicate with him. AIBU is used by some people to let out a demon who they wouldn't usually let loose. Some people use AIBU to moan about rubbish.
