Dublin in October

Posted on travel board as well but no replies so trying here.

Thinking of going to Dublin in October for 4 days. But wondering if there is enough to see/do to fill the days.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Also how much spending money would we be looking at?

October in Dublin would be fine. You can do all the touristy things (Guinness Storehouse, Book of Kells etc). You could day trip to the Cliffs of Moher from there too.

Personally I'd get a flight to Farranfore and see Kerry.

Forgot to add: would choose Kerry over Dublin. I like Dublin a lot but I think Kerry would be lovely for that period of time.

I've been to Dublin once 23 years ago so can't remember any of it and dp has never been.

I've already thought of the Guinness brewery.

I got a free flight when I got my phone so I've booked my flight and we will book DPs nearer the time

I enjoyed the Jameson’s distillery and the art galleries, we also really loved a trip we booked to Kilkenny and glendalough - it was an all day coach trip.

I’d go to Belfast over Dublin any day. Dublin is a tourist hole full of Americans, English and everyone else. Overpriced and over run. Belfast is vibrant and friendly.

Do not do a trip to the Cliffs of Moher if you are on a city break in Dublin. It is the other side of the country. You will get loads done in 4 days. Pick one or two things a day that are close to each other and just enjoy the city.

I'd say Kerry as well. It's a gorgeous county. I have friends over there so have been there quite a bit. Inch beach not too far from Dingle is arguably Ireland's most beautiful beach.
Killarney is a lovely town.

That all sounds good. Interested in sight seeing and just general nosying about shops.

I've read a lot of books set in Dublin so I'd like to go see some of the places they mention like st Stephen's green etc. So getting the dart to see the bay would be good.

Ireland is very small and easy to get around if you wanted to see a few other places. Derry is amazing for Halloween, the whole town gets dressed up and there is a carnival and firework display.
