Help me find a cookbook with classic British recipes

I’d like a cookbook that is simple and easy to follow that has normal British recipes. I’m thinking of things like Lancashire hotpot, Shephards pie, a roast dinner, simple normal things.

I’m a terrible cook (or maybe I’m a great cook? The truth is... I’m not a cook at all).

I would like good solid basic recipes, NOT “twists” on the classics. I figure if I get a good handle on common basic recipes, I can spread my wings afterwards.

I know I could get the recipes online but I want a book I can refer to in the kitchen, I don’t want to have to worry about my battery running down or getting ingredients on my phone!!

@FR3d Cross Post!
My copy is so old that Mary has a very dated hair do!! 😂 😂 😂
Can also recommend her Fast Cakes. A few years ago MB was on R2 with Chris Evans. She was very amused when I texted in to say my copy of FC was falling apart!!

Not got it. To me who has dyspraxia the words Masterclass make me think of difficult cooking.

Jane Hornby’s what to cook and how to cook it. Not only is the most beautiful cookbook but has pics of every stage so you know what you are doing

My wife is a French woman, and a very good cook. She says there is no such thing as good British recipes. I do not agree-I am only quoting her.

Gordon Ramsay British pub classics. It has all the recipes you put in your OP with clear instructions and recipes taste great. It's my go to book for the winter

Given the choice between Delia and Mary Berry, Delia wins every time.

My DM has a Mary Berry book and the recipes all are a bit bland.
