To think my baby is warm enough ?

I get lots of comments From strangers that My 9 months baby isnt dressed warmly. Even from friends and family.

But baby is easy to sweat from his head, if I put on as many layers as most do.. always has warm and his hands and nose are warm.

I use hand and feet and nose to find out if he is cold. And head sweating to find out if he is too hot.

AIBU? Right now I’m out and it’s lightly raining and he wears a long sleeve vest, then hooded thick jumper with hood on his head , he is wearing socks and foot muff covers his body. I’m in London and it’s 12 degrees. His hands are boiling.

Someone random just told me, “you need to cover him up”.

I just find baby is very uncomfortable in too many layers.

DS has always run warmer than me, he usually had the same number of layers as me or even fewer.

He's the same at 4 usually, but gets really cold legs (not feet) so he gets lined trousers etc. People are obsessed with bundling babies up!

We have a lot of immigrant parents from hot countries in this area, theirs are the children with puffa jackets on in 20°C. DD would be a puddle of sweat.

My son is like this. Middle of winter he would wear a long sleeved shirt, a thin jacket and a pair of jeans with his socks and shoes on. If I even put a cellular blanket on him he would sweat so much it would stress him out and he would scream and he was only a couple of months old. He is now 2 and has never been outside in a proper coat only thin waterproof jackets. It was only a couple of weeks ago he was in the garden in just a nappy playing in puddles and while I put the garden toys in the shed for winter!! He sleeps in just a nappy and hasn't worn a vest under his clothes since he was born, he was just too hot! Some kids just don't get coldGrin

If it’s lightly raining...do they mean cover him up from the rain? Sounds odd to me complete strangers are commenting on your baby‘s clothes.
