To go off sick

I have an anxiety disorder and migraines. The last five days I've had a migraine and I'm exhausted and feeling low. This happened last year and it lasted a month. I am going to the doctor today, I suspect that I need signed off to recover. I'm going through a stressful time and I'm concerned that if I don't rest I'll get worse. I'm worried that I will be judged at work for my mental illness, I grew up in a family who didn't believe in mental illness.

Sorry for the typos or grammar.

Workplaces have to consider mental health issues the same as a physical conditions. Your GP will sign you off if they believe you need it to recover. Your workplace can not argue against that fit note. I appreciate your anxiety will be making this ‘bigger’ than what it is- I have generalised anxiety disorder too along with bipolar, so I fully understand how you feel.
Take the time off, rest and recover. If you try to ‘work through it’ you will end up havng a longer period of time off in the long run.
Take care and I hope you begin to feel well again soon X

If you don't rest you will probably end up being off longer down the line.
You might find a week now will nip it in the bud.

If I were your employer I’d want you to stay home and get well.
