Flu vaccination, wrong one nearly given

My son has a medical condition which entitles him to a flu vaccination. Due to medication he takes he must have the inactive injection not the live nasal spray.
I took him last week and the HCA administering the vaccination told DS she was going to squirt it up his nose. I stopped her and asked her if that was the correct vaccine, she then read his notes and agreed he needed the injection.

AIBU to expect his medical notes to specify he is not to have the live vaccine or the HCA to have asked some questions first to determine the correct vaccination?

Here are the guidelines which do come from the NHS.

Dark, quite right, he should have the inactivated vaccine.
We have a check list that we ask parents including asking about immunosuppression.
There are lessons to be learned. I'd suggest ringing your practice Nurse and discussing it with her.

The practice nurse will be giving him the injection at the end of the week, will speak to her then at least to check his notes are up to date.

If I give the incorrect drug at work - even if the incorrect drug has been prescribed - then I am responsible. The responsibility does not lie with the patient or their advocate.

It’s a near miss, and you’ve had great advice from other HPs.

If I have gone to the lengths of checking with the GP practice that the correct flu vaccine is given, I would expect that to happen. Sure, DH shares responsibility, but seeing as you found out by default (through a fb group) I don’t think you need berated for not telling your DH, especially as he wasn’t taking your DS for the vaccine. People are being really harsh to you. Good luck with the injection, hope your DS doesn’t mind them too much.
