To think that if the press extensively report on allegations made in court against a prominent individual, they should also report on the outcome of the case?

This relates to Linda Bellos who, along with another feminist (Venice Allan), was privately prosecuted by an individual in what has been described as a “politically motivated and vexatious prosecution”.

Following the intervention of the Crown Prosecution Service (which had already declined to prosecute the women itself), the case was thrown out of court.

The opening day of the court case – including the allegations made - were covered extensively in the mainstream media (just type ‘Linda Bellos’ into Google and look at the news tab) - but, as far as I can see, not one has reported on the final outcome of the case this week. (This is the only record I can find which is on a legal site www.2harecourt.com/?p=2654 )

This is a woman with an extensive track record in equality and diversity, whose achievements include introducing Black History Month to the UK and being awarded an OBE for services to diversity – but anyone who googles her from now on is going to find that many of the top search results are allegations made against her that have been subsequently thrown out of court – with nothing to indicate that this was the outcome.

YADNBU. It's a shame that there only seems to be a story where there's blood

They tend to only put tiny little updates on the end of the articles to cover themselves after when it's found the person wasn't whatever they printed suggesting
