Ok so this is just a rant but WIBU to just go and bloody buy a sodding angel costume from sainsburys?

Ok so I make the kids costumes because I like the idea of it. Then it comes to the reality that I really am crap at sewing, especially the whole spacial awareness back to back bit. sewing the right shape to the right shape etc. Now I have a deadline of tomorrow. I should be getting organised for work etc and I have reached my wits end.

I should really persevere with the almost finished home made one but just want to chuck it in the bin.

Any simmilar stories to make me feel better?

When DD was an angel I cut a head hole in a doubled over length of sparkly fabric I already had and used double sided tape up the sides leaving a gap at the top for her arms. I also glued a length of tinsel around the neck. I got a bit of stick at the nativity from people about having gone to the effort of making my own costume rather than just buying one! No one would believe it took me about 20mins and was less effort than going to the supermarket.

My dd already has a white dress. I ordered angel wings off amazon and made a tinsel wreath.

Hilarious Our school had the option of donating the costumes to the school, so.not everyone had to buy costumes. Not wasteful at all.

That's great to hear KC225, but for some parents a second hand costume isn't good enough for their child.

Our school provides all the nativity costumes, so parents just have to provide leggings and a t-shirt in the appropriate colour (usually black or white).

I’m very glad of that whenever I see threads like this, I’d not like to have to go buy or make a costume that’s only to be worn once.
