Would you buy a house next to a roundabout?

House is nice...only a few years old too. But it's on the end of the road next to a roundabout. The town is a small town, but the road gets quite busy as it is a main road to other areas.

I don't think it would be noisy, and it's a 30mph area. Just interested to hear if anyone would consider it, or if we're likely to regret it?

No, no and theee times no
Never

I wouldn’t even buy a house on a main road.

I live around the corner from a busy dual carriageway with traffic lights on it.
I feel very sorry for the houses right on the traffic lights

They are hard to sell and maybe are now rented and their price is probably devalued

No, I wouldn’t.

It wouldn’t put me off completely but it would be the nail in the coffin for anything that I was in two minds over.

I lived in a house by a roundabout for a few years and the sirens were really noticeable since it was a fairly quiet area - and the flashing lights.

No, I lived next to a main road for a while, it was 30 mph. I wouldn't do it again, noise, dirt, not being able to open the windows in summer. We both prioritised not being next to a road when we moved.

The upside is uou get more house for your money than you woild in a good location , but it's really, really not worth it.

No chance.

Traffic noise including emergency sirens if it’s a main junction.

No parking for visitors, deliveries etc I would have thought.

My DPs live opposite a roundabout. Double glazing and quite far back from the road means little road noise, but its not for everybody. We have some interesting incidents tho!
