Hi, question: how long do i, my husband and our 3 children have to stay at PILs house on Boxing Day??? She (MIL) is cooking dinner. I ask as I dread going over there, MIL and I do not speak. She is a narcissist, if she is not in control - she will make u pay (I’ve paid a few times over the years!). Husbands thinks all day, I’m thinking 2 hours?

stop enabling your husband to be a coward.
let him go alone to his mother's, hopefully he'll get so fed up of it he will willingly cut those apron strings.

If you feel you need to go, just do a pop in. Don't stay for a meal, just say you will visit for an hour at a time convenient to you. You need to drive, make sure you have the car keys on you, so when the time is up you say goodbye put the kids in the car so dh can't let mil drag the time out.
