Hospital parking

So been waiting since March for this hospital appointment for my two children. Left nice and early for app. Got to hospital, not one space. I must have circled round for at least half an hour. At last I spotted a car just about to leave, so I put my indicators on that I was going in when the parked car left. Suddenly this women appeared waving. I waved back, but realised she was waving at the bmw driver behind me. She walked up to me saying this was her friends space as she had been looking for ages. I said no it’s mine and I’m late for an appointment. Then I drove in. She then took a picture of my car?? I saw the space and went for it. Since when do people stand in spaces hogging it for people??

A guy was sat indicating already but she reversed out in a way that blocked him and I drove straight in
This is majorly CF! The guy had already claimed the space and the current parker prevented him from accessing it in order to give it to you, the second person in the queue.

I would totally have done it if I was desperate for a space. Especially if the baby was crying in the back.

I think we will bus it next time. No stress. I honestly never thought it was as bad as that so early in the morning. Our car park is free, so a lot of people park there cars there, then bus it into the town. It’s very unfair. She was a definite CF, you can’t reverse a space standing in the middle? Outrageous!!

It’s whichever car has been waiting longest.
A woman tried to have a rant at me this week for taking “her space”. I was waiting directly behind it for ages - I’d seen someone walk up, get in and reverse out - she had come from around the corner.

I was definitely the first car to be there. I was indicating to go in. The BMW’s friend saw the space, hoped out the car and stood at the space. The bmw tried to get past me to get in, but I didn’t let her. The girl that was outside came up to my car, I rolled down my window. She says that’s my space, we’ve been going round 15 min looking. I replied my car was here first, you can’t stand in a parking space. Then I drove in. Grabbed the kids and ran as we were already 10 min late.

hospital parking is just horrific. I have occasional appointments at a specialist clinic 12 miles away with no reasonable public transport alternative. I have to aim to arrive at least 45 mins before the appointment to allow for the inevitable parking bunfight. No barriers, no "full" signs, no queuing system, and three different entrances to the car park, so there's vehicles coming from all angles all headed towards one space. Each time I've been I've witnessed near misses with people nearly driving into each other in desperation to get a space (and I understand the desperation when you're at risk of missing a much needed appointment).
