To think that if you are expecting delivery of an 8 foot Christmas tree, you should make sure you are in to receive it?!

Like most people, I don't mind taking in packages for neighbours and they do the same for me, especially at this time of the year. However, I can't help thinking that if I had ordered a blardy great pine tree to be delivered the next day (it has a 'next day' delivery sticker on it), I would make sure I was in to receive it! So, I currently have an 8 foot Christmas tree propped up in my hallway and I can only hope the neighbours come to collect it before my cat discovers it!

I am actually quite amused by this and don't really mind, so my AIBU is pretty light-hearted. Grin What's the oddest thing you've every taken in for your neighbours?

Wow, I can't believe you accepted delivery! I'd have told them to plonk it in the neighbours' garden. You'll have pine needles all over your hallway! Shock

Maybe they were given a time for delivery and they were early, happened with my sons bed they were an hour earlier than the times they said they would come between, they started delivering the bed next door, lucky I had only gone to the bus stop to pick my son up and the delivery men saw me, it was a very heavy bed and I would not have been impressed if we had to carry the bed from our next door neighbours to my house and upstairs.

Havelock, it's quite neatly wrapped in netting, so hopefully won't leave a mess. That's true goodie, maybe my poor neighbour just took a few minutes to pop to the loo - so there she is trying to hurry up when, typically, a man turns up at the door with a giant pine tree - always the way! Grin

I would take it in if it was me too, although I hope they are very grateful to you! Last xmas my neighbours took in a parcel for me and in the box was a lot of food stuffs, and they left it right on their hot radiator. Not that it was clear what was in the box, but why would you do that?!

Nothing like a pine tree here. We recently took in two huge bags for next door that had the contents of a ball pit for their baby's first birthday.

I try to order stuff to arrive when I’ll be in, but it isn’t always possible. I ordered something recently, that was due to arrive on 14th December and turned up this week.
