To want to boycott Dyson forever...

So, I place this order to replace our old DC41 and though initially confirmed on the phone, and due for delivery today..
It was a straighforward card payment. But, apparently, the card is not the issue .. I had to phone and hold for ages for someone to explain this to me..
And now I learn that my order has been refused because it failed a 150 point check done by their "system"..But, they won't tell me why.
I cited GDPR and the right to ask for an explanation! Nope, its the "system" Shock

I am so furious Angry with their attitude towards customers that I want to boycott their products forever.. AIBU ?

Anyone been in a similar situation or who knows more about these things, please enlighten me..! TIA

dogToy, why do you insist on spelling rights as "ritez"?

I'm genuinely puzzled here.

Because she clearly didn't quote or cite anything as she has little / no idea about GDPR and it's relation to her failing to buy a hoover

There is a certain beautiful irony in someone being pedantic over use of a word and then calling a vacuum cleaner a hoover and misusing an apostrophe in the same sentence.

Dyson made a name for his vacuum cleaners as a byword for quality and then subsequently moved production from Wiltshire to Malaysia.

It's a slippery slope as, once a company has gone to the effort of swapping their workforce to that of a cheaper country, they tend to get the bug and look for other cost savings to boost profits further and, invariably, materials are downgraded and quality is the casualty.

It's no criticism whatsoever of the skills and dedication of the workers in the cheaper country, but they can only work with what they're given.

Oddly enough, I don't recall seeing the prices of Dysons tumbling to take this into account.

Dell did the same when they moved their European manufacturing base after realising that they could get about 14 Polish workers for the price of 1 Irish one. Their prices haven't fallen noticeably to reflect this either.

Just go into a shop and buy one in person, its not really the end of the world is it?
