Being included in my boyfriends family s secret Santa. Wasn't included before. I don't know what to ask for in my wish list. Not really in the Christmas spirit right now and would actually love to have Christmas cancelled. Life has been shit and the last thing I have on my mind is presents.
Anyway I know you don't know me but I thought what people on Mumsnetters would like so I might get some inspiration. Budget £80-100

OP posts:
Soiree · 29/11/2018 09:28

Perfume, l'occitane stuff, champagne with flutes, chunky throw, cashmere jumper, framed print, handmade earrings, spa voucher.

ShotsFired · 29/11/2018 09:34

I would go crazy for a £100 book voucher!

Simple, but immense joy for me.

Onefootforward1 · 29/11/2018 09:34

Following but for a £20 budget. I’m buying for someone i don’t know at all!

I think for £80-100 i’d like a spa voucher, l’occitane almond oil range, nice champagne or a voucher for jewellery. Basically, something i don’t have to share with anyone!

Thesearmsofmine · 29/11/2018 09:36

Perfume, books, some nice bath/skin products, a nice scarf.

DownUdderer · 29/11/2018 09:38

Nice houseplant or garden centre voucher
Fabric for sewing!
Haircut voucher!
DIY store voucher,
Audible membership:)

HoneyBumpkin · 29/11/2018 09:45

I'd go for an experience for that sort of money: spa day, art evening classes, theatre or meal at a nice restaurant.

Actual things: a waterproof Kindle, a new pair of boots, chunky soft knitwear, a really good quality bag/back pack, Harry Potter Lego set!

PermanentlyFrizzyHairBall · 29/11/2018 09:48

I would love some vouchers to a favourite shop or spa. I'd also love some really nice sofa cushions or throw.

EmmaStone · 29/11/2018 09:54

Cashmere gloves, cookery course, jewellery, tickets to something I'd like to see / do, L'Occitane smellies, Mr B's Emporium book gift, Sweaty Betty vouchers, new curtains!

One year, ILs bought us a joint Secret Santa gift of vouchers to a local boutique hotel, and we used them for a special meal for our anniversary, which was really, really lovely.

thecatsthecats · 29/11/2018 10:26

On that budget, quality over quantity.

I would honestly skip scarves and gloves for everyone for all eternity (December birthday and Christmas = I get minimum 3 scarves a year, and gloves, even though I never wear them).

But throws, cushions, nice glassware, subscription boxes - all good.

I would steer clear of vouchers personally. We still haven't got around to spending ours from last year, and nearly lost our House of Fraser ones. It's basically giving money but with inconvenient restrictions.

percheron67 · 29/11/2018 12:41

Idris Elba? (please).

MissSingerbrains · 29/11/2018 13:23

Nice booze or nice chocolate

Voucher for nice restaurant

I prefer stuff that can be eaten/drunk or an experience type thing. Not actual stuff stuff to add to clutter.

DorisDances · 29/11/2018 13:55

Voucher for a spa or foodie treat. Cashmere jumper. Make up set from Bobbie Brown. Smythson or Liberty stationery.

LovelyGirlNOT · 29/11/2018 18:18

I always just ask for gift vouchers for shops I like, and then spend them in the January sales to get more for their money!

halfwitpicker · 29/11/2018 18:19

Seems a lot Confused

100 quid?!

Didiusfalco · 29/11/2018 18:24

Blimey thecats - I would love vouchers, feel like with cash I have to do something sensible or save it, with a voucher I can treat myself!

Need to know a bit more about you to make some useful suggestions though op.

YoThePussy · 29/11/2018 18:38

Membership of a gin club or other drink of your choice? What’s not to like, little packages of booze arriving monthly. Otherwise chocolate club, similar set up.

Agree throws are lovely. Scatter cushions for your bed? Posh Zara bedding?

Leeds2 · 29/11/2018 19:48

A slow cooker.
A crate of red or white wine.
Uggs.

SavoyCabbage · 29/11/2018 20:23

I don't like vouchers either. I don't see the point. I'd have a crate of red wine though. Or some Dr Martens. Or a cashmere jumper.

modzy78 · 29/11/2018 22:16

It really depends on your interests. I'd say to put down something to do with a hobby of yours. Or an experience you'd like to try but feel unsure of spending the money on. One year, I got a voucher to make a leather tote bag. It was a great experience that I would have felt guilty spending the money on. I also got a silver clay jewelry workshop as a gift once.
And if you're not feeling overly festive, maybe come up with something practical you'd like to upgrade or replace. Something like a new coat, really nice jumper, or boots. Then you can enjoy the gift every day.

kateandme · 30/11/2018 03:35

escuse me whilst I just swallowed my lips!because having that much to spend or be spent on me...wow.
so if I was being realistic and sensible im sorry to be boring old mush I might ask or a grocery sotre voucher.:(
but if I ignored the shit situation of the world.
some perfume
some perfume body lotion
a massage.
hair cut and colour.
a hoodie
seasalt.white stuff voucher or top,sweatshirt,dress
pair of brown rider boots
duvet cover
a coat

op do you think a nice massage would help you feel better.or is there a concert or someone on tour to look forward to something mking you feel better.
do you like baking or a hobbie you could have a class for.
what about a subscition for food to make life easier.
do you have a favurite store because that amount could be a voucher and a whole new feel good outfit.
a train ticket to your fave city.
Im so sorry things are so bad right now.but try to think of this being a bit of a healing balm or something make next year better.
what about a night in a hotel.
or a fave restaurant to be treated to a nice meal.maybe you don't want to do xmas but next year is going to come for you so what could make it better.or what have you coming up you might need supplys for.clothing.a tent.anything towards a holiday or even a ticket on the Eurostar for a day in paris.

Whyislarryhappy · 30/11/2018 12:33

Rituals gift set - the shower gel body scrubs body lotion ect are amazing!
Lush bath bombs
Jewellery or jewellery voucher
Kindle or other tablet
Perfume set - Thierry Mugler or Marc Jacobs
Hamper of fluffy goods eg. Dressing gown, slippers ect
Nice art canvas - there's a lovely colourful paint splat world map which I desperately want! Grin
If you drive - voucher for halfords ect

coffeekittens · 30/11/2018 12:41

Personally I’d love a house plant a lovely posh pot.
Some other things I’d love:
Perfume
New dinner plates (sad I know but my cheap Asda ones are so chipped I’d love some decent quality ones)
A big fluffly dressing gown and decent hard soled slippers
Skin care set
Diptyque candles/diffusers
Spa voucher
Someone local to me does these gorgeous framed pictures which I’d love but are out of my price range

If you really can’t think of anything are there any charities that you support that you could ask for a donation to and you just receive something small to open? I didn’t want to celebrate my birthday this year so people donated to my local cat rescue on my behalf.

petalsandstars · 30/11/2018 12:50

Something in my favourite jo malone scent, Hotel Chocolat goodies, spa day or massage /pamper session at my local salon. Gin subscription box, or giving very clear hints to a style of jewellery rather than just vouchers for a store.

Justanothernameonthepage · 30/11/2018 12:57

Ooh. New gym bag, duvet set, cooking class, travel bag to look forward to summer, books, nursery plant voucher, shhhowercap, Silkie turban, art print from favourite childhood author.

NailsNeedDoing · 30/11/2018 13:06

Have a look at the website of some shops or brands you like for inspiration, they'll probably all have gift ideas on the front page.

Personally I'd ask for some new bedding, a posh candle or a handbag.
