Strange question TV or dining chairs ?

I cannot buy both without going over drawn. I do not watch TV but DD2 does when she comes home from uni. Currently we have neither so it’s not like I’m upgrading .... does a house need a television.... can we eat Christmas dinner on our laps in front of said TV

Do you literally never watch tv or films? Because if you don’t then I wouldn’t get one just for her visits otherwise it will sit there unused most of the time. Does she have a laptop or anything she could bring to watch shows on? If I were you I’d get the chairs!

I'd start by looking on gumtree for the chairs as a pp said - you're more likely to find something good, either a nice solid wood or something more modern that someone else got bored of, for your budget

Then see if you've got any money over for a TV - or large tablet?

I would look for chairs in charity shops or on Freecycle - that way they only have to be good enough to last until you've saved up for the ones you want. Spend your money on your TV. DD will appreciate it.

Chairs are far more important than a tv, if your DD is so keen on one she can pay for it. Your comfort is much more important, but worth trying Freecycle/Free Ads in the paper for both chairs & a tv.

Second hand chairs, second hand TV. Should come in under £100 and you can put the rest in savings.

If you can cope with a CRT, you will probably find someone willing to pay you to take it away... they're a massive pain to get rid of.

They are brilliant because they are stackable,

I would buy both buy chairs would be off Schpock / eBay / gumtree and tv I would buy new but I would shop around.

Bought one for Ds’s room for £49 about 2 or 3 years ago from Tesco

I’ve got my eye on some on eBay I like the look of that would bring both in under budget, thanks for all the suggestions ☺️
