....but not in the way that you think Grin Wink Posting here for ideas and advice only. I'd like to pick your collective brains for a holiday destination. We'd like to go for two weeks in January or February , 2 adults and a pre-school DC. The criteria are as cheap as possible, as sunny as possible. Preferably beach-based. Happy to slum it to an extent....not looking for luxury by any stretch. We had Corsica in mind until we realised that it's nowhere near warm enough until later in the year. Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Flowers and Cake and thanks in advance.

Canaries are your best bet for sun and suitability for a preschool child

Sharm is off bounds still with a lot of holiday insurance firms too, ifvthe FCO say ‘don’t go’, then you won’t get insured. Also Tunisia, a few frirms have gone back after the beach attack and prices are very low.

Another recommendation here for Lanzarote. It’s a beautiful island. It’s bloody cheap (as not in the EU) and you are pretty much guaranteed decent weather. We go twice a year.

Thanks you lovely people Smile. Got some great suggestions; we really appreciate your kindness especially going to the trouble of posting all the links! We'll let you know what we choose Smile

don't go to Cyprus in Jan/Feb as it will most likely rain a lot of the time and it will be cold.

Cheerbear23 · 27/11/2018 21:05

Been to Lanzarote a couple of times in February and its always very windy. Apparently it’s not unusual but it certainly made it cooler. Temps were from 17-23.

CrispbuttyNo1 · 27/11/2018 21:06

Playa Blanca and Puerto del carmen are not too windy. Costa teguise can be much breezier.

Mitzimaybe · 28/11/2018 17:15

Tunisia can also be cold/wet in Jan / Feb.

Mogan or Amadores in Gran Canaria would tick the boxes. South part of the island tends to get the best weather of all the Canaries.

I'm taking mine to Tenerife in January and hoping it's going to be nice weather
