To wonder what's the point of a robotic vacuum?

Over the past few years DH has often suggested buying a robotic vacuum cleaner. So far I have managed to dissuade him but I accidentally saw an email yesterday and it would appear he's bought one in the Amazon Black Friday sale. As he's not told me that he's bought it I can only imagine it's meant to be a Christmas present for me but that's a whole other thread!!

I honestly can't see the point in them. We have young children so toys laying on the floor are a pretty constant in the lounge so it won't have a nice clear floor space to clean. Plus, I'm assuming it can't get into corners so we're still going to have to get the normal vacuum out.

Are there any positives to them? Will it revolutionise the cleaning of my house?

I used to have one and it was great.

However, if DH wants one and you're not keen (and you've made it quite clear you're not interested in one), he absolutely definitely totally should not be buying you one for your Christmas present.

Ha! sneaky! It cannot replace our upright vacs, unfortunately, but it can help keeping the floors "dust free" around 90% maybe? lol not an expert, just a mom! hehe. You're right about your concerns though, if you have stuff on the floor, you'll have to pick it up first before you let the vacuum run or it'll get stuck and sometimes can eat up wires. But suction wise though, they can be pretty competitive, even at carpets. You can check it online yourself, and see what you might not like about it,hhaa.

Ok, so he came clean!! Apparently he was going to wrap it up as a joint present from Santa as a joke but decided it might not go down too well!.

We've now had a couple of weeks and I guess it's quite handy. I like the fact that I can be "vacuuming" the lounge whilst washing up in the kitchen at the same time... Wink. However, it's still a relatively expensive luxury that we could have quite easily continued living without, plus our DD (21 months) is absolutely terrified of it and screams hysterically if we even mention its name (yes, it's been given a name Blush).
