My friend uses CBD oil for fibrosis and Erhlers danlos and finds it really helps. It can be used to help a variety of conditions.

Yidette86 · 25/11/2018 22:32

There's a lot of research and trials that show CBD oil is actually safer and has much less side affects in comparison than prescription drugs used for certain treatments.

I think some people tend to look down on it because of the fact it's cannabis but don't realise that the psychoactive properties (THC) is specifically taken away so there's no "high".

Cannabis actually has many uses but has sadly got a bad reputation because of others misusing and abusing it.

Oh right thankyou like I said im pretty ignorant and i find theres too much info sometimes, I know about its use for MS etc chronic pain conditions but first time ive seen it used for behavioural.

I didn't know people were using it for autism, but my friend is the sole carer for her mother who has dementia, and it has been a Godsend for them. It has really made a difference, and made an almost impossible time easier for them both.

staydazzling · 26/11/2018 08:47

yeah using to help concentration and overall calm behaviour

Does anyone know if it interacts with other medications?

BarbarianMum · 30/11/2018 09:41

There's a lot of research to show that CBD can be helpful for a whole range of conditions - but generally at higher dosages than are offered by a lot of over the counter preparations - so it's likely that there's quite a bit of placebo effect going on too now it's everywhere. But thats ok too as long as it helps.

Melatonin gummies are popular with adhd and asd parents who kids don't sleep as more often than not the kids aren't producing enough melatonin.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 30/11/2018 09:43

It’s amazing for epilepsy which can’t be cured by medication. My husband took part in a drug trial for a new epilepsy med based on cannabis so obviously the big pharmaceutical companies think it may be of value too.

BarbarianMum · 30/11/2018 09:46

Interesting Mistle I thought it was some of the other active ingredients in cannabis that were used for epilepsy.

Chocolatepeanuts · 30/11/2018 09:49

Google Billy Caldwell, a little boy from Omagh wth severe epilepsy whos life has been changed by CBD oil.

twattymctwatterson · 30/11/2018 09:54

CBD oil can be purchased from Holland and Barrett. It doesn't get you high

Omzlas · 30/11/2018 11:26

@clangermum I believe it interacts with BP medications (If I remember correctly) but you just have to space the doses a bit more. There are some CBD groups on FB which have some very useful information

clangermum · 30/11/2018 11:33

Thanks @Omzlas

staydazzling · 30/11/2018 17:09

thankyou for all responses and calmed my initial "argh cannabis" response.

My consultant told me to go ahead, when I mentioned it.

It gave me back my mobility.

I despise Cannabis as a drug.

The body shop hemp hand cream is very good as well.

Chillywilly93 · 28/10/2019 11:54

It is being used to treat epilepsy in children quite successfully, as well as skin conditions like acne. Quite an interesting substance really
