So I've made two threads before this one about my DS bruise we've had blood tests done and we got back and there was a policeman at my door wanting a chat. Gp has referred us to social so police had to come check the kids. He said he's happy. What happens next? Was the gp just covering her ass? I'm scared.

That's what I would've thought?

fruitshot

I’d posted on the other thread about the necessary test taking about 20-30 mins to run, and if you are sent to a specific hospital for it you’d expect results there and then (it was being run on me every 2 days during the first fortnight of chemo to check response).

The boy was initially referred to a distant hospital and OP warned that an overnight stay might be needed. But I think they went to a different, less distant one.

NotSoThinLizzy · 22/11/2018 15:51

So has anyone been in this position? Off to different hosp tomorrow so peaditration can have a look at it. Anyone else had this?

OP posts:
bobstersmum · 22/11/2018 18:07

How have you managed to get another doctor to agree to look at it op?

NotSoThinLizzy · 22/11/2018 18:30

I havnt social want a proper child docter to look at it and them and tell them if it's child abuse

OP posts:
NotSoThinLizzy · 22/11/2018 18:31

Everyone who's seen him so far hasn't been a peadiatraion just doctors

GimmeGimmeHellYeah · 22/11/2018 18:35

I take it the blood tests came back clear?

StormcloakNord · 22/11/2018 18:38

Can I ask what kind of bruises social services are notified of?
I always get confused when I see these threads as my DD is covered, and I mean proper covered in bruises. All over her legs and elbows and sometimes on her head. She's clumsy and bruises so easily but we've never ever had problems at the school/nursery with it?

feverbee · 22/11/2018 18:39

@NotSoThinLizzy it's normal for them to ask a paediatrician to have a look when the bruising looks suspicious. The best thing you can do is follow what they advise you and be honest with them. Hopefully it's nothing and no more will come from it.

feverbee · 22/11/2018 18:42

@StormcloakNord generally it's another agency that reports bruising. They'd usually report if it was in a place that you wouldn't expect bruising to happen accidentally such as the inside of the arms or the inside of the thighs. Another reason might be if the explanation doesn't match up to the bruise. This is why they'll ask paediatricians to check this out - they're specially trained paediatricians and they'll be able to give their medical opinion on if the injury is non-accidental.

NotSoThinLizzy · 22/11/2018 19:09

Because his bruise is under his armpit it deffenetly looks suspicious which is why I got him checked out in the 1st place. I have a few ideas where it could've come from so I'm taking them with me the items he could be fell on

OP posts:
NotSoThinLizzy · 22/11/2018 19:11

And sorry yes bloods all clear. Which gp never even bothered to tell me about I had to ring 3 different places even the hosp that did the blood said it was strange that go never told me

OP posts:
bobstersmum · 22/11/2018 19:42

It all seems a bit extreme for one bruise op, especially when you took him yourself, it wasn't reported by someone else you took him! Makes you worry about these things I would be scared too.

mumto2babyboys · 22/11/2018 19:50

Take photos of the bruise and photos of the items you think caused it.

Social services are known to lie so it will help having some evidence if they exaggerate how big the bruise is

Menolly · 22/11/2018 20:56

@StormcloakNord Generally bruises the child can't explain, tries to hide, are odd shapes or are in odd places, like wrists and tops of arms and legs.

Normal, fallen over playing type bruises on knees, elbows and shins are rarely a concern, especially as a clumsy child is likely to fall over just as much/more often on the playground so staff will know they are just clumsy and bruise easily.

NotSoThinLizzy · 22/11/2018 21:06

Yeah extreme is the word and stupid. My friends son had bruises like he was in a boxing match she went back and forth to same gp nothing was done turns out her son had a blood disorder. This was a few years back. Just found out today. I'm pretty sure the gp judge me on how I'm dressed and look

OP posts:
Threadastaire · 22/11/2018 22:11

@notsothinlizzy I'm sorry I know you're stressed out but that's nonsense. Gps do not refer based on how someone looks. They refer based on an unusual bruising pattern.
@mumto2babyboys your agenda posting isn't helpful. Paediatricians will complete a body map chart and measure bruises. Social workers will take their description from the paediatricians report.

NotSoThinLizzy · 23/11/2018 08:34

It's not a pattern thought it one bruise seems excessive

OP posts:
bobstersmum · 23/11/2018 11:01

I did have a look at your other posts op and don't shoot me but is there any chance your daughter could have hurt the baby?

NotSoThinLizzy · 23/11/2018 11:11

Honestly there's a chance when she picked him up she could be hurt him there

OP posts:
mumto2babyboys · 23/11/2018 13:18

Take photos! Children's services are well known to lie. You will have to prove you are innocent even though you haven't done anything wrong and it's only one bruise.

bobstersmum · 23/11/2018 13:47

Why would children's services lie? Is this real? What would they gain from that?

Blessingsdragon1 · 23/11/2018 14:12

If anyone really thinks GPs don't judge on appearance they are naive in the extreme x

FissionChips · 23/11/2018 14:20

I’ve tried as your other threads. Isn’t it likely it’s a combination of hinges that’s led to this report? Your daughter doesn’t eat, has behavioural problems, you’ve had PND, baby won’t sleep and now has unexplained bruising etc.

You sound like you could do with some support from SS.
