WIBU to phone 111 even though I've already seen my GP?

So, 13 week old DS has had a cold for about a week. He's had a temperature for five days, it comes down with Calpol but goes right back up again. He's raspy and bunged up and it seems to be hurting him to swallow. He's had 10 ounces of milk today, he normally has 6 in one feed. Nappies are still plenty wet. His eyes are red and puffy but he hasn't slept well for days so could just be down to tiredness. I got an on the day appointment with my GP yesterday who didn't really seem concerned, just said to keep at it with the Calpol but I expected an improvement after five days. She listened to his chest and said it sounded fine, didn't really check anything else. He's been miserable all day and is inconsolable at the moment, he's in the sling as I've had to put the eldest to bed. He's still crying. I'm tempted to call 111 but will they just think I'm daft because the GP said he's fine or is it worth the call? I know it's probably a stupid question but I've never really dealt with 111 before.

Do you have a local Walk In centre open nearby? Id pop to that if possible.

visitorthedog · 20/11/2018 18:37

I’d call if you’re worried.

NicoAndTheNiners · 20/11/2018 18:38

I always think with a baby that small if you're worried then you go back/get seen again.

Mabelface · 20/11/2018 18:38

Call 111 if you're worried. It could be RSV/bronchiolitis

GlitteryFluff · 20/11/2018 18:38

Just call. Baby is still so little. No harm in calling, they'll probably want to see baby at ooh's to just check over. Hope all is ok.

OhOk · 20/11/2018 18:38

I’d call. Even if just for a second opinion as he is so little. Hope he feels better soon

NicoAndTheNiners · 20/11/2018 18:38

111 will tell you if there's a walk in or urgent care centre near you.

gruffaloshmuffalo · 20/11/2018 18:39

I work for 111. Please call if you're worried

Bigonesmallone3 · 20/11/2018 18:39

No harm in calling, if they r concerned they could send out a car to check him over however I think with a baby that young they always advise a hospital trip.
Or go back to the docs first thing

I don't think there's any harm in giving them a call, at the least they should put your mind at rest x

Mumof4under10 · 20/11/2018 18:40

If your worried call. I've have done so before. Even tho gp said all fine in morning appointment by evening I was still concerned. Ending up in hosp for few days with bronchiolitis.
