To not see the point of Alexa?

Unless you are disabled, switching lights on or off is no big deal. And everything else is simply what you can do on a laptop or tablet. I don't see why you would spend money buying another gadget that doesn't do anything new.

DD is rubbish at getting up on time in the morning and cajoling her was PITA. Less so now I can do it from the comfort of the kitchen table with cuppa in hand. When I leave the house Google Home turns the lights off, the thermostat down and reminds me of the stuff I have to do.

Do I need Google Assistant? No but I am more productive with it around.
