So. DH travelling back today from York on the train. Women (mid 40’s in case you’re wondering) in front of him had her phone angled to the window so people passing couldn’t see. It was however, reflected in the window and DH had a clear view of her porn! Don’t get me wrong, whatever floats your boat but on a train??Blush

So I used to think this was just weird - then I read that some ppl do it to make others feel uncomfortable... still weird but more sinister

HappyGoodHairBear · 19/11/2018 19:54

Maybe it’s so no-one sits next to her.

HappyGoodHairBear · 19/11/2018 19:55

An update to handbag/jacket on chair.

Blanchedupetitpois · 19/11/2018 20:00

I think that’s a sign that you’ve totally lost sight of what normal behaviour is. You’re so far outside the lines you can’t even see them anymore.

shadypines · 19/11/2018 20:02

Anyone with an ounce of common sense would realise that this is wrong.

What's up with waiting until you get home/to your hotel room? Either these people are desperate/addicted or have no respect for others, or both.

Sad sad woman on train.

You watch movies online on the train to pass the time.
You watch porn to get a sexual thrill.
You really really don't want to get aroused on the 7.25 from Basingstoke

Sinead100 · 19/11/2018 21:07

I was on the number 38 bus from Holborn to Angel recently, at 8.30am, and an older gentleman (definitely in his 60s), was repeat watching a video of a woman pleasuring herself. My seat was raised and directly behind him, so I saw everything. vomit

CoughLaughFart · 19/11/2018 21:10

There's a man on my bus who watches porn in the morning. Gay porn, not that it matters...

Then why mention it?

TheWiseWomansFear · 19/11/2018 21:17

I always imagine these people have a certain level of additional needs....or alcoholics or something.

(Not saying people with MH issues are all perverts, just that it takes a certain lack of social awareness/ lack of embarrassment-to ever contemplate this).

Birdsgottafly · 19/11/2018 21:26

A580Hojas, it is an offence in the U.K.

There have been prosecutions and if children are present, you can find yourself on the sex register.

Limensoda · 19/11/2018 21:28

It's more than fucking weird but to be honest I doubt it will be long before people are having sex in public. Behaviour boundaries are disappearing.

TakeMe2Insanity · 19/11/2018 21:30

I hate it when people do this. I especially hate it on airplanes as there is generally no where else to look. Or worse still dc gets distracted and keeps looking up at it. Surely, porn at home only.

HollowTalk · 19/11/2018 21:38

I think people need to report this as soon as they see it. People need to be called out on it.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 19/11/2018 21:39

I especially hate it on airplanes
I've never seen anyone openly watch porn on a plane!

I was bad enough when the couple in front of me were watching some zombie movie on a shared tablet, so I could see it between the seats. I hate horror movies but I couldn't help watching people's arms being ripped off.....

lisasimpsonssaxophone · 19/11/2018 21:43

I was on a bus a couple of years ago and I realised the guy in front of me was watching a video of a man masturbating. Then I looked again and realised he was watching a video of HIMSELF masturbating Shock

I think he must have been doing it deliberately to get some kind of thrill from knowing I could see it over his shoulder. I wish I had reported it but I was just too shocked!

thegreatbeyond · 19/11/2018 21:43

I feel like it must be some sort of fetish. Like people who fantasise about sex in public or something, but with no regard for the actual public involved.

RiverTam · 19/11/2018 21:45

Gross and I would kick off about it.

MrsTommyBanks · 19/11/2018 21:45

Pretty sure it's an offence to watch porn on public transport. I've got a vivid memory of reading about it recently...

MrsTommyBanks · 19/11/2018 21:51

My mistake. MPs are calling for it to be made an offence.

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/watching-porn-bus-could-become-13464999.amp

A580Hojas · 20/11/2018 05:42

So what IS the current position? Birdsgottafly fly tells me it already is an offence and there have been prosecutions.

ForalltheSaints · 20/11/2018 07:17

Surely if they are using wi-fi on the train it would block anything determined as adult content? Try using normal 3G or 4G on a long train journey (even just to view emails) and there are gaps in the service.

So it suggests someone is downloading before travelling. In which case, easy to prove intent when prosecuting, which I hope would happen. Easy to take a photo of the person and report to the BTP.

I once sat next to a very well dressed man in his 50s on the train who's phone auto played whatever porn he had been watching that morning, the moaning and slapping could be heard through the whole carriage whilst he furiously tried to turn it off

There are prank videos where seemingly innocent videos are edited with sounds from porn movies half way through. It may have been one of these if he genuinely surprised by it.
